If Milan ever sell Piatek I will boycott every single Milan game for the rest of the season.

Piatek will score a hattrick tonight. His partnership with Rebić is far more superior to Ibra and Leao partnership.

suso and rodriguez im pretty confident about leaving us but im yet to be convinced that we will actually let either piatek and paqueta leave in this window as it starts to seem like everyone interesting is lowbidding us if there infact is any offers on the table for them. Besides of that as there is only 3 days left of the transfer window if i remember correctly it doesnt seem like we will be able to replace them in time .

I think Ismael Bennacer’s ideal partner in the midfield should be Rade Krunic, Hakan Calhanoglu or Giacomo Bonaventure. Just saying …
And then I think Pioli plays a midfielder on the left so that the team would have a balance of changing from a 4-4-2 to a 4-3-3 depending on how the match pans out.

I actually said that we should have gotten someone else bc I had my doubts. But I was still happy and hopeful with the signing. However, my doubts have been proven correct. Once teams realize all they need to do is sit deep bc of how limited his skill set is. His goals dried up. Yes we don’t possess the best passers, but at the same time he doesn’t make space for himself. There’s no misdirections to confuse defenders. Just makes a predictable run that can be seen for miles.

I don’t recall anyone saying anything like that but it’s always easy to say after the fact. Milan wanted young players with potential and room to grow. That’s what we have with Piatek. He’s only 24yrs old already people expect him to be a Marco Van Basten. Smh.

Milan must show patience and help him develop. Another 2-3 season and Piatek will be a top class striker.

We cannot make the same mistake we made with Cutrone.

It’s foolish to give up on Piatek and it would be stupid if we sell him.

Dear Nick, I share most of your sentiments but I cannot say the same for Piatek and Paqueta. Piatek as a striker is limited.. He can’t run, and all his runs are predictable… He cant hold on the ball… easily shoved off the ball by defenders… he dives unnecesarily, he has poor ball control (so far the worst in the team), he cannot position greatly.. he cannot link up with his teammates… He was lucky last season but now defenders have studied him… Milan cannot show patience developing a player for 2-3 seasons. Good performance in the first half, despite the result. We are controlling the match, with Torino scoring on their only real chance. Rebic MOTM so far imo, from his antics in the box to his pressure on Torino’s defense, just great. Really liking Bennaser’s performance (even though he lost his man in the goal), and every cross by Theo is dangerous (but please let him have the ball as little as possible in our own half). On the other hand, our right side is barely participating in attack.

Keep it up.

I hope now everyone can wake up and see that this formation is a joke without proper defenses. The last 4 matches were all fun bcoz it was against smaller teams. Inter and Roma will tear us apart like this.
Conti and Theo are suited for 3-5-2.
Romagnoli and Kjaer or any pairing will suffer with all the open spaces.
Bennacer,Krunic,Kessie are not DMs.
This isn’t the right formation. I want points but i’m afraid with big and medium teams we will suffer really bad. Wake up management. Get strong DMs.

This squad was build for 3-5-2 i agree.
Its obvious the counter is so effektive vs milan, even low bottom side can score.
Pioli is a coward that sold caldara…. Whith rodrigez back, they could have played 3-5-2 alowing theo and conti to attack and deffending with 3. it would be much better then the 2 midfield.

The milan soultion at the moment is, atack is the best deffence. its baiscly a 2-4-4 when attacking. And we pray GODrumma saves everything. It worked well so far.

I think everyone agreed a 352 would be more beneficial. A 442 doesn’t work against good to decent teams that play a 433 or 352. 2 mids vs 3. You control the mid easier in a 352 and you still have wide play with 2 forwards. This would have been the perfect time to try it

@milan10 a back 3 makes sense. We have good cb to play it. And we have the personnel to play the midfield and forward areas. We could control the middle easier as well as play wide. While defending it easily initially turns into a 442. Like I said we should try this in the coppa to see how it is but we never experiment in times we should

1. @nick. As a forward I can answer you. Pippo played against better teams and defense that were faster than him. He’s slower than piatek as well. However, pippo stays on the last defender bc as you know if you start first you have an advantage. But he just doesn’t make an obvious run. He waits for when the team passing around. This takes the focus off him and onto the play. Then he makes his run sideways first or drops back and hooks around or drifts in between the defense. Roller coaster of a match, but good well deserved win by the boys. Good first half, mediocre second, and then a chaotic energetic extra where we really bled on the field. But man-of-the-match goes to Hakan who scored twice, once to save us and then to take us over, and also managed 3-4 superb passes. Credit for the defensive energtic work by Samu and Conti as well. Good job, let’s continue… Read more »

Great post but I must say Leo was great tonight aswell ..we have a real star in him! We have improved so much since the atalanta game and tbh even before that game there was real signs of improvement:) we look good we have an identity and honesty can give top 4 a real go ! If only pioli was the coach from the beginning.. in hernardez..bena..rom ..donna..leo ..and even calab.. and gabbia ..our future looks bright with a few more smart signings.. and a shout out to rebic who has come to form when needed.. he can be important… Read more »

LOL. No it didn’t mate but that’s ok because nothing has changed for me. Strikers go through a bad run of form and Piatek is just lacking confidence.

Last season he scored 30 goals in all competition (Serie A & Coppa Italia). So he’s definitely no flop. He’s just going through a bad moment.

For me I don’t think we need to sell anybody, we need every one if there is possibility of salvaging a champions league spot this season, Milan should close all doors and concentrate on what we have, we can’t sell when we don’t have replacements, matches like today shows that everybody is needed

Good game, when both Rebic and Leao are on the field chances just keep on coming, despite beeing strong and fast both of them are very creative as well and can create by them self. Kjaer more relaible then Musachio but still not on the level we need. The worst thing was our deffence, more precise Conti, he is just so bad in positioning and despite his size he is very bad in air duels as well, he is more of a RM than a RB. Maybe we should go for a new RB (Calabria is not much better than… Read more »

Imagine if we had rebic and another speedy, quick and skilled forward to play with. Big target forwards will end with lewandoski when it comes to big teams. It’s all about being dynamic now. And if you do have a big forward. He needs to be skillful and strong like zlatan and lewandoski.

phew, congrats pioli, the players and all milanisti. normally, i dont like drama like this in football match but goddamn, thats such hollywood-esque performance from milan. donna was his usual self; sharp reflexes and good mentality. the defense was extremely porous; it has more holes than somalian pirates boat. its a shame that milan cant get spinazzola because he’s much more solid than conti/calabria, and kjaer and musa are good back ups at best. i hope boban/maldini can address this asap. the mf also didnt really do good job protecting the defense. like i said, milan lack good dm and… Read more »

What’s crazy is why don’t we try gabbia in the coppa. This game would have been perfect. Torino isn’t a bad team but also not a giant. It would have been perfect to see how he played. He did rest in preseason so why not try him in these games. Could be the answer we are looking for. Look what happened with rebic. We’ve had a gem this entire time. Play him and see how he does ‍♂️

Im extatic about us progressing but this milan team really plays with fire as we showed great progress in the first half compared to the previous two games and then whent completely slacking and letting torino show the initiative. We could fairly easy have whent down with more than 1-2 and besides of that the first hakan goal was deflected so it changed its course just ending without of sirigus reach. Donnarumma even had to save our butts in the dying minutes which deffently would have killed the game if it had gone in. 3rd one though was class and… Read more »

Over all a decent match. Piatek should not leave, he can still be of use. Leao has some serious potential Man, him and ibra are a good duo. Rebic too continues to impress. Castillejo may not be the best winger in the world but I’m happy for him. I asked myself why this guy is still on this team and now I want him to stay. He is such a hard worker and he also has skill and makes good plays(also bad ones.) he’s a really refreshing sight to see after I gave up on suso. Kjaer is weird, makes… Read more »

Totally agree. People keep forgetting that Piatek is only 24yrs old. Most strikers hit top peak at age 26. I don’t even know why Milan would put him on the transfer market if they claim they want to have young players that can grow and develop into world class. Smh.

Milan made a unforgivable mistake with Cutrone instead of having faith in him. They must think twice about selling Piatek. Instead have patience and give him time and support to grow. He has shown us last season that he has the potential. Smh

“I want to play Arsenal”
Good luck with that.
(No trying to make fun out of hes broken english)
I believed in him. But from the early interviews you could hear a young guy out of place. Its sad if its true. But its similar with Suso, maybe for different reasons but similar.
You cant say he didnt get chances but the pressure was probably to much for him.
If he doesn’t leave and he becomes less predictable then our gunner should stay otherwise he should go.

Rebic & Castilejo showed ONCE AGAIN they deserve to be in the starting 11. Also Leao played well with Rebic. And Zlatan. But then again, who wouldn’t play well with Zlatan? Sure, I admit, Calhanoglu made a difference and played his best game in Milan shirt BUT… Let’s not get carried away. He plays one good game per season and that’s it. Rest of the season is crap. So don’t get delusional and think he will repeat yesterday’s performance anytime soon. Same goes for Kessie. Did you watch the previous game where Calha was in the starting 11? I bet you didn’t if you’re claiming “he is still in the team cos of his hardwork”. He was literally jogging when he were supposed to run and was very lazy in defense. Usually when he loses the ball he goes on the ground waiving his arms to the ref instead of fighting to get the ball back.

I think the best thing for hakan is to be a super sub. And he must come on for a person in the middle. Not wings. As for kessie I agree he should just be used as a cdm. Be a ball winner, and with his energy he would be great at it. Get the ball and then give a simple pass to a skillful person. If he does that then he becomes a beast. Going forward isn’t his strong point.

I’m happy, I’m excited, this team is now motivating. But why can’t they play the 90 minutes like they did the first 10. I saw overlapping players, skills and at least two on the box. Piatek Rebic seems promising, Piatek showed good link-up, he played nice with his back on the goal, I disagree with all who said he is camping on the box. He is developing, he just needs time. Second half was bad for all the team. IMO When Ibra step in, the whole team played even slower. Castillejo, energetic, showing Suso how it’s done Ibra, disappointing and… Read more »

When was the last time Milan made a profit by selling a player (no, Cutrone won’t count since he’s a product from the academy)? Thiago Silva (almost) a decade ago? I can think of dozen of players let go for free though. And buying Matri instead of Tevez… 😀

I don’t think this kind of performance is even possible so I have my doubts about these stats: Ante Rebić vs Torino: 1 assist 111/112 passes completed (99%) 27/29 dribbles completed (93%) 7/7 long balls completed (100%) 12/12 aerial duels won (100%) 14/14 tackles won (100%) BUT! If true, those are REALLY REALLY REALLY impressive stats. You can’t really perform any better, now can you? Statswise that is. One failed pass in 100 minutes? Really?!!! FFS, give this guy a medal! Or at least a place in the starting eleven. EDIT: And how about that pass to Jack’s goal? Even… Read more »

He was always this good, thats why his market value was 40mil back in Germany, i watched him in the world cup and i can tell you that he was Croatia most noticable player thru the cup despite Modric and Rakitic. Why they didnt play him when he came in Milan is a mistery. I made a comment before that him and Castileho are constantly scoring/performing in tranning matches and yet they are not given a chance in offical games.

Piatek is having a poor form. If we have to sell him, we are not getting the most of his value. In my opinion, in today’s inflated market, he should be worth at least 50 mil.

Piatek and Suso sold to hetha Berlin and Sevilla respectively.
Imagine confidently telling a reporter that the next club you go to is going to be a big one, and its going to be for 60 million.

Flash forward four months, and instead you’re getting sold for half that amount, and rather than Bayern Munich it’s Hertha Berlin.

I think selling piatek is the wrong decision. With him and suso leaving could somebody like Correa finally be brought in from madrid? That’s the only logical explanation. But how do we get a deal done in such short time

Its the correct decision he doesnt want to play for Milan anymore and simply put he hasnt been good enough he was way worse than Suso even, you are just afraid that he will find success with another club and maybe he will but he is not the right striker for Milan or maybe he was just another one season wonder no matter Correa is too expensive and he is not anything special at all he wouldnt do much difference for Milan

It’s the wrong decision for the basis. In just one year hes gone down 10m. Wouldn’t it have been best to put him on a dry loan to find success and then sell him after the euros? Plus who will be his replacement? Fine he hasn’t been playing well but we know his potential.

nick

The team is finding their feet under Pioli and we have won 5 games in a row which is a step in the right direction.

However, Milan will not find a suitable replacement in January for Suso or Piatek. The decision to sell both players now seems like poor management decision especially in the case of Piatek who hasn’t even played a full season.

Unless Milan sign Timo Werner OR Joaquin Correa to replace him anyone less would be a total joke and bad decision. Smh
