Pepe Reina will say goodbye to Milan already next week, and the club is considering 2-3 foreign options.
Gianluigi Donnarumma is the undisputed starter at Milan and he has been for the past four years. Pepe Reina, who was brought in by Massimiliano Mirabelli and Marco Fassone when it wasn’t sure whether Gigio would stay, spent the majority of his Milan career on the bench, trying to help Donnarumma grow.
However, now the time has come for Reina to move on. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Spaniard wants to play more. Soon, his move to Aston Villa will be completed.
Aston Villa had a meeting with Reina’s agent on Thursday and an agreement was reached in full yesterday. The 37-year-old will join the Premier League outfit on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season. John Percy of the Telegraph reports that the medical will be done early next week.
Milan have been linked with names like Emiliano Viviano and Marco Sportiello, but Di Marzio states that the replacement of Reina will be a non-Italian figure and Milan are thinking of 2-3 profiles. Milannews.it suggests that Joe Hart, who is the second-choice goalkeeper of Burnley, has been offered to the management and they are considering him. Hart previously played for Torino.
It is believed that Hart would accept a six-month contract at Milan.
