Asmir Begović is the goalkeeper likely to arrive and be Gianluigi Donnarumma’s understudy as Pepe Reina is set to leave.
After signing Zlatan Ibrahimović and Simon Kjær (the defender had his Milan medical this Saturday), the Rossoneri are ready to sign another player.
According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, RadioRossonera, Milannews.it and others, Bournemouth’s Asmir Begović has been selected by Milan to take the spot of Pepe Reina as the second-choice keeper, as the Spaniard is set to leave for Aston Villa on loan with option to buy.
As reported by Milannews.it, Milan were considering three profiles: Joe Hart of Burnley, Łukasz Fabiański of West Ham and Begović. The Bosnian spent the first half of the season on loan at Qarabağ. He is not in the plans of Bournemouth and they would be happy to offload him.
Milannews.it claims Begović will sign a contract until the end of the season. Alessandro Jacobone of NonEvoluto reports a salary of €0.5m (for six months) for Reina’s replacement is allocated.
