Zvonimir Boban and Paolo Maldini are expected in the Spanish capital next week to talk with both Madrid clubs.
The transfer market will shut down in 9 days and so next week is the final one of the summer mercato and the Rossoneri still have some business to finish.
So far, Milan have said goodbye to Cristian Zapata, Ignazio Andrea Bertolacci, Josè Mauri, Riccardo Montolivo, Tiémoué Bakayoko, Patrick Cutrone and Ivan Strinić. In addition, they’ve brought in Theo Hernández, Léo Duarte, Rade Krunić, Ismaël Bennacer and Rafael Leão. Some more exits and signings are expected, with the dream arrival remaining Ángel Correa.
“Milan want Correa at all costs. He is the identified player, they all fell in love with him. One also feels the need to have a player with his characteristics. The feeling is that in the end Milan will manage to catch him,” Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio said during Calciomercato – L’originale last night.
As reported by Milannews.it’s Pietro Mazzara and by others, it has been confirmed that at the start of next week, Milan Chief Football Officer Zvonimir Boban and Technical Director Paolo Maldini will fly to Madrid. The reason is to meet Atlético Madrid in order to try to define the transfer of Correa; the gap between the Rossoneri and Los Colchoneros remains and must be bridged.
Another meeting that will take place is with Real Madrid. It’s still not clear what the two sides will talk about, as the meeting was scheduled a while ago. It’s possible that the Los Blancos and il Diavolo will negotiate for Pepe Reina as Real are interested in the goalkeeper as a replacement for Keylor Navas (who is heading to Paris Saint-Germain), as reported by AS and others in the last days.
The next week should be very interesting for Milan, who want to complete the squad of coach Marco Giampaolo. Correa was and remains the number one target, and they’ll try to get him.
