Report: Milan and Real Madrid schedule meeting for the last week of the market, Mariano could be offered to the club

Real Madrid and Milan will apparently meet again soon and a profile that could be discussed is Mariano Díaz, even though Ángel Correa remains the number one target for the attack.

The transfer market ends in less than two and a half weeks. Milan have already signed five new players but there will still be some movements until September 2.

According to a story written by Alessandra Bocci of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Real Madrid and Milan have scheduled a meeting for the last week of the transfer market. Paolo Maldini, Zvonimir Boban and Frederic Massara already met Real earlier this summer and the meeting resulted in Theo Hernández joining the club.

The Los Blancos will have some players surplus to requirements by the end of the market and Milan can take advantage of this situation. While the likes of Modrić, James, Isco and Bale are virtually unattainable due to their cost, a profile that could be discussed is that of Mariano Díaz.

La Gazzetta claims that Real Madrid could offer the striker to Milan. Mariano, 26, has no space at Real Madrid and has failed to convince coach Zinedine Zidane since returning to Madrid in 2018. He’s already been stripped of his #7 jersey (given to Eden Hazard) and therefore is likely to be on the move. Mariano would give Milan another option up front, and be an alternative to Krzysztof Piątek.

In any case, the number one target of the Rossoneri for the attack remains Ángel Correa of Atlético Madrid. The offer of the Diavolo remains €38m plus bonuses and the deal is stuck for now.

Why?

This Milan management team are really working under the radar so these are mere speculations.

At least I hope they are. If that’s the case I’m rather stuck with A. Silva.

I don’t want Marianno too but trust me he is still better than Silva. Check him out on youtube. He has a powerful right foot shot. Game intelligence in build up play. Very aggressive. He also has great instinct for scoring goals. Mariano could be a surprise that turns out good. Piatek is just like inzaghi who needs passes to score. Marianno is a build up player. Real Madrid seem to have excellent players and Sporting director. Callejon was just like Marianno wasting away at Real Madridd and then he was let go to Napoli and we all know how… Read more »

Milan searching in other people’s dustbins and not looking after their own players.

There’s no shame in rooting around in Real Madrids dustbin mate, like the article says Bale, James and Modric (who’s the current world player of the year) are in there.
Real Madrids dustbin is still like dining at a Michelin star restaurant…. the best player we’ve signed this year came from that same dustbin

I just don’t get it. What’s the point of having home grown players that actually have talent if your not going to play them. Look at the message being sent to them. Even if your good, we will just buy players at ridiculous prices and undersell ours that have more potential. Gabbia is in danger of following cutrones path. Don’t forget about bellanova to.

I totally agree with you Nathan I can’t is the problems with Ac Milan management

Naz

Home grown players are great if your club happens to be Ajax or similar who sell there players to clubs like ours! Very very few academy players from clubs like ours actually make it to the first team because most of them aren’t good enough that’s just the way it is….. I watched a documentary about Wenger while he was manager of Arsenal and in it he said 0.1% of young players who want to become pro actually make it at all so just imagine how low the % is out of that tiny amount who become champions league quality?… Read more »

Naz I get what your saying. I do realize that very very few make it. However, when we do have amazing talent that has showcased the talent, and proven they can be amazing, why are we selling them. Not only that, but the other clubs in the top 4 big leagues never sell their talents for cheap. We could never ever ever afford to buy Donna, cutrone, Calabria, gabbia or even bellanova and dejalo if they were on other teams. Before Barca started just buying. The way they groomed their youth was actually playing them. Cutrone proved he can score.… Read more »

If Milan cant sell Silva to raise fund for Correa so why try to sell Castillejo and Laxalt? I read some news another club in Spain interested in Casti, Zenit also want Laxalt.. Milan can have at least 20-25M if both of them can be sold..4 Striker, Piatek, Leao, Silva, and maybe Correa thats good enough in my opinion when Milan only have focus to Serie A and Coppa

Yes, we definetly need to make some sales to create both space and to get more funds. However, there needs to be interest in our players before a sale can be made. The offers must be satisfactory to the club ( and player to be sold ). The club is working hard to make sales right now, but not at any price. Considering everyone knows Milan have to sell it is not that easy to create the conditions of a sale that will benefit Milan more than potential buyers. Diaz is not a bad player. He is a hard worker,… Read more »

Definitly there are lot of players to leave, since Gianpaolo want two players for every position, two left back, maybe and laxalt and rodriguez, for tham we can earn god money, a.donarouma or Reina, both have big salary for backup goale, Calhanoglou since there are not big chances that he wil have big part, and with money for him can secure Neuhaus, we can even leave him in Borusia on loan, beter than Bayern snatch him, Castilieho should leave also, and Silva if ofer good arives but look like noone want him even not Valencia( there coach )

Castellijo and Laxalt were poor signings by Leonardo. Plain and simple. Milan must offload these players.

Milan will sell Silva to raise funds for Correa but we will still be short upfront so we will need another striker.

Castellijo is not useful and Borini cannot deputize for Piatek. We need another striker that can gives us 15-20 goals per season. So we need to go for Andrej Kramaric.

Piatek, Kramaric (CF) Leo and Correa (2nd strikers).

Two quality CF and two quality 2nd strikers. The team will be complete because we will have two quality players for every position.

Agreed, I’d have no problem with us off-loading Castillejo and Laxalt. No idea why we bought them in the first place.

the problem is we have 3 sport directors in 3 years. Mira never answered for his mistakes. Leonardo never explained why we bought these players and Maldini is still learning. our problem is still the same as it was 3 years ago. the owner. we had crazy Berlu. then the Money launderers (Chinese owner) & now we have a shark as a owner who only thing it cares is money. I don’t know if you familiar with “Last week tonight” (it’s a tv show) but they had an episode about Elliott Management Corporation and watching it will make our situation… Read more »

Leonardo bought Laxalt,Castileho first for offloading Bacca and Lapadula as part of the deals and second as a back ups in 4-3-3. It was a good move at the time, the fact that Gatuso didnt use them is just typical Gatuso he didnt even used Bakayoko until Biglia got injured.

I didn’t say that it was a good or bad purchase. I said that none of our directors, had any time to achieve any success or explain the failure. what we did with coaches is repeating in director level. Hiring gambles & Firing them next year. Leo is a great scout but that’s it. What he achieved in PSG? He has lot’s of talent in what he do but that’s his limit. He is no Braida. what Maldini (that I actually love as a player) achieved in one year in our club that we decided to give him the director’s… Read more »

Just because elliott messed up argentina doesnt they will mess up milan. Its in their best interest to make milan competitive again so they can sell the club to the highest bidder. Milan being midtable club would mean elliott wouldnt be able sell it at high price

Soheil

“it’s their best interest to make Milan competitive again so they can sell the club”. the problem is this exact sentence. they want to sell the club. just think of Milan as a broken car. they don’t want to replace it with a better newer car. they want to fix it with with smallest amount of money so they can gain a profit of the sell. when you want to sell something, you don’t care about how & where it will end up. you just care about the money. “Just because elliott messed up argentina doesnt they will mess up… Read more »

U still dont understand? Their business is like buying a cheap dilapidated house from bankrupt people and then sell it to the highest bidder. Now, if u were them, would u fix the house so it would look like nice house therefore could be sold at higher price than what they bought it for o would u just let the house still as crappy when u try to sell it?
So far theyve spent near 200m in 2 seasons, they also hire giampaolo, maldini AND boban. If thats not improvement then i dont know what is

soheil balini

It’s not actually. We hired Maldini with ZERO experience in the job. We hired Boban with ZERO experience in job and we hired Giampaolo with Zero experience in top level. I’m not saying they are bad or good. I’m saying they are gambles.

You still don’t get it? Milan need stability not a shark group making it their new project. In 3 years we are starting at Zero again.

Milan10

Boban zero experience? He had high profile fifa job before milan got him. Maldini is football club owner. Giampaolo is one of the best coaches of serie a.
Stability? U mean buying young talented players like bennacer? Or inviting high profile billionaires like qatar foundation or louis vuitton owner to buy milan?
Milan is in much better shape now under elliott than they were under berlu last years or the chinese short regime. Deal with it

Soheil you’ve a valid point, but as the Chinese mamagment the Elliott’s Milan is the only path we could actually follow.A young Milan, you see it as a gamble and IMO the only gamble are Giampaolo and Maldini, but they are not crazy gambles like Inzaghi’s and Seedorf’s.

In the last 3 years there has been a revolution in the first team, and that Boban guy was the guy who is going to save us from FFP disaster. If Giampaolo can get us CL we will definitely see a strong signing.

lot’s of “if”s but yeah I’m agree with you. of course I believe we could have hired better candidates with exact same management. Is Maldini the best director we could have got? (Gotten? Get? I don’t know!) Is Giampaolo the best coach we could have hired? the answers is no. I would love to everything be great again but in the meanwhile I hate people here who are supporting Maldini & co, no matter what. we should be heard but we can’t even agree on small things.

Hey all, is the game tonight televised in the uk ?
Is it just me or does anyone else think Correa may just be a smoke screen ? i’d go for Modric personally and keep Silva. By my reckoning even if Modric was say 25mil to buy and then 7mil a year in salary wouldn’t that still be cheaper than Correa and hive a much needed world class midfielder to boot ? I’m probably missing something but hey ho.

I’m not a fan of Mariano and I’m just hoping this goes nowhere. It is obvious Milan are trying to offload Andre Silva. So Milan should focus on Correa and Andrej Kramaric. That way we have 4 quality strikers. Correa and Leo as 2nd Strikers and Piatek and Kramaric can compete for playing time as they are somewhat similar in style even though Kramaric “technically” can also play as a 2nd striker. I don’t see how Mariano fit into our team because we really need a backup for Piatek and Andrej Kramaric fits that bill perfectly. Kramaric is a double… Read more »

“Keita Balde is as good as Niang “ bro, you can’t be serious. Niang has never scored as much goal as Keita Balde in his entire career let alone in one season. LOL

Mariano would be wise signing, he is capable of operating in multiple attacking roles and capable of scoring 15-20 goals per season which is what we need to take pressure off Piatek. I would love to also take Isco away from them but unfortunately we don’t have the financial resources due to FFP to do so.

Rosored

I think our main problem this season will be Trequesta and we better buy either Isco or James Rodriguez since none of Suso/Paqueta/Bona are built for that role and it is extremely important for teams goal scoring which is what we are lacking right now.
