Andrea Conti hopes this will finally be his year and says ‘we have been working well’ under coach Marco Giampaolo.
Milan take on Bayern Munich tonight (night between Tuesday and Wednesday – 03:00 CEST kickoff) in their first 2019 International Champions Cup match.
Andrea Conti is expected to play from the start in the role of the right back and he sat alongside new coach Marco Giampaolo to talk ahead of the game.
“Since we’re started training under Giampaolo, he immediately made it clear what he wants us to do, he has a clear idea of football and we’ve been working well together over the first couple of weeks,” he said. “We’re working on the defensive phase, which is something I need to work on. What I can say is that I will always work hard and give 100 percent to improve and meet the coach’s requests.
“Last season was meant to be my year, but in the end it wasn’t. I have to focus on working hard, make sure I’m ready when I’m given the chance to play, and he rest will come accordingly.”
