Ángel Correa and Milan have a deal over the contract and now the Rossoneri need to agree with Atlético, it’s reported.
The Rossoneri are looking for a second striker to play alongside Krzysztof Piątek in Marco Giampaolo’s 4-3-1-2, and the media in Italy – led by Gianluca Di Marzio – believes that Ángel Correa of Atlético Madrid is the number one target.
Now, the Argentine media is reporting the same. According to TyC Sports, Milan have in fact reached an agreement with the 24-year-old forward over personal terms.
TyC Sports adds that now an understanding has to be reached between the clubs. Atlético are looking to get around €50 million for the player who scored just 5 goals last season in 49 matches. Gianluca Di Marzio reported yesterday that Milan will meet with the La Liga club on Tuesday to negotiate. According to VarskySports, the offer of the Diavolo at the moment is around €40 million.
It indeed seems odd for the Rossoneri to be willing to spend so much money on a profile like Correa. At €50m, he’d be the most expensive player in the history of Milan. Updates are expected next week.

Not that I’m against this player. I’m against the price. Correa has the potential to be a great player and coming into serie a and playing with piatek he could be deadly, but for that price there’s many other players. If we get him for 35-40m yes great deal but 55 is too much. Everton Soares showed how capable he is and he basically screamed a plea for milan to come and get him. There’s also depay who can play many roles. It’s a weird choice but maybe we can unlock his full potential
Pleases get depay for 40million ….he’s far more better please please
I said earlier that if Gianpaolo can not tell the difference between real quality players, he can’t be the genius that people think he is. I got thumbs down. Giampoalo doesn’t seem to know the type of player quality players that are need. He is just relying on the board to give him whatever and in the end he gets fired. No good coach would think that Suso is a great player. He is the laziest, most undisciplined player who get 50% of the teams ball possession and make too little conversion. If Milan keep building their team around SUSO,… Read more »
Ok i agree with you about Suso and Bonaventura being overrated but Romagnoli on the other hand isnt overrated he’s very good in his position.
You expect him to come publicly and say Suso is shit? Besides Suso has top assist stats in the league with all his laziness. He has quality, that’s undeniable.
@El Bandito, You are wrong. Why? Because the club is open to selling Suso and even lowered the asking price. No one ever said that they are going to build the team around Suso. Giampaolo only said that Suso has a lot to offer to the team, which is true. But considering that Milan is actively looking for a SS means clearly that we aren’t relying on Suso, at all. We should get Everton, all in, if we get a SS. Everton is better than Correa and has a huge potential, in both business and game. Bona is not overrated,… Read more »
I appreciate you constructive comment. Yes, Everton is better. So let’s just hope Suso leaves.
Don’t get carried away with his form in weak French league, he did nothing in premiership.
Compared to Depay Correrà has scored basically nothing, Depay beats him in every category, even though Atlético didn’t have their prime attackers in check due to both injuries and red cards.
Depay played most of his Lyon’s games as SS rotating with the main striker, he is a goalscorer more than an assist man, Correa is more an assist man and less a goalscorer, is faster than Depay and Milan want to grow up the speed of play not the quality of executions. This is the reason they bought Theo and Bennacer, and now they want Correa. Depay is good but is slow and Everton is unexperienced at highest level !
@Deku. Those who are giving you a thumb down must be either those who are lying to themselves and don’t want to face the truth or those who are just plain clueless about football. If you set Correa against Depay it would be humiliating for the former. Depay is what you call a beast. He just got unlucky with goals in Manchester united. His performances were never bad. He just needs to dribble less and score more. Gone are the days when football demanded JOGA BONITO. Results are all that matter nowadays. Goals is is the money. Besides even the… Read more »
I know his stats don’t look great but depay isn’t a striker, he’s a left winger and we will be playing a 4312 formation. Also depay’s work rate isn’t great and did not do well in a top league, hence the reason man u sold him.
Everton played in Brasil at Gremio and won a coppa america played in Brasil, meanwhile Correa played at Atletico at the highest level, if Everton is valued at 40, Correa should be valued at a higher price !
Exactly
If we consider players like Depay and Everton couldn’t come for a reason or another that we can’t know yet , I’ll just say that Correa is more than welcome , but anything more than 35M for him is a total waste !
If we are going to spend thich much on a player
They should get depay
He is a beast
Thank you bro…100/100 correct
whoever comes to Milan i believe management and coach have a clear idea about the players, formation and gameplay because they know better than me who only watch Milan from tv.
can’t wait for the friendly matches
Thank you! That was exactly what I was thinking
@Lando & Shadow Storm. I agree with you 100%.
We toth that and for Mirabeli/Fasone, Maldini say that we need god midfielder or two, for years we need god playmaker, generaly good midfielders, yet they spend bunch money on the player wich in diss situation isn’t necesary
anyway it doesnt matter.. he is deadly infront of goal and he is a tireless worker, reminds me of lavezzi. well as a ss he will give piatek the necessary services he requires from him.. just saying
Cutrone is also deadly in front of goal. More so than Correa. Milan needs creative mids that can actually give passes to the forwards to score. We don’t need Correa. Cutrone and piatek have already shown they can play together. Just get another cb or promote gabbia. And another creative quick mid.
No they haven’t…. Cutrone and piantek do not play well together. They both look lost and rely on themselves. They look like they play for them selves that’s the truth. I think cutrone and piantek up top is really poor.
@thetruthseeker. You clearly didn’t watch the game they started together WHILE playing a 4312. They were amazing together and set each other up a few times. One of those times it was cutrone setting up piatek for the goal. They had paqueta behind them and we were dominating the game and creating plenty from midfield. You can’t judge them when cutrone comes on with 10 min left and try to form a partnership. Like I said, when they started together in the 4312 they thrives off each other and did not get in the way of each others run paths.… Read more »
I dont know where in the world you think Piatek and Crutone played well together.
You have to be critical at some point and eat up whatever you are fed like a sheep. Look at where Mirabelli got us with overrated players. They spent 200 Million not to qualify for CL.
starting the project all over again…..can anybody here give 100% assurance that this Milan will either win the league or qualify for the CL (I pray and wish so though)? if we don’t should we sack Giampaolo and sell another 4-6 players again and start all over? well lets all wish this new team gel together as quickly as possible else……..
Pal can I get you a beer? You earned it
If they keep buying average players for overpaid sums, they never will. Same problem is happening with Man U. Liverpool were having that problem as well couple of years before Klopp came in and started picking players to suite his playing philosophy.
Get Benatia who will be available for less than 10 million as makeshift CB till caladra arrives. Depay or Fekir can be done for 25-35.
Fekir went to Bilbao instead.
I don’t know what the directors are thinking
There’s a reason why no big teams in Europe got Fekir. Also, don’t let the French league fool you. Depay is a player I like but make no mistake, anyone can look good playing in Ligue 1. I trust Maldini, Boban and Giampaolo. The coach need the right players for his system and he will come good. Ancelotti didn’t win immediately when he started coaching Milan but his football was good and over time with the addition of players Rui Costa, Kala, Pirlo and Seedorf, Milan became CL league winners twice and finalist 3 times. Giampaolo is taking over Milan… Read more »
Well… if they get him it would be a tremendous purchase, no doubt. I’ll believe it when I see it.
@Baresis, I really don’t understand the fuss some people here are creating. Correa is exactly what this team needs to pair with Piantek, and here is saying that Cutrone and Kris can play together which for me is pure nonsense. The truth is this if you are keeping Cutrone then buy Correa to start with Piantek whom I believe he’s more compatible playing with than Depay,Cutrone and Silvia. Believe it or not Correa brings a lot to this team.
Agreed.
Yeah, the only thing is his price; too high for our reported transfer budget.
Will you guys stop talking like a broken record ” his price too high.. His price too high” are you the one paying the price? I’m pretty sure the management have concluded how much he cost and how much they will have left for other player waaaaay before you and everyone else who keeps repeating the same nonsense.
Did you trust the Chinese owners? Where you sure they knew what they were doing? Did you read the news in last two years about ffp? Have you noticed what situation our dear milan is, because mgmt lnew what they were doing.
Truthseeker my %@s … your name is way too ironic
A lot of people who talk here don’t understand football, this is the reason they say that Giampaolo doesn’t know what he’s doing, the same for Maldini and that Depay or Everton are better than Correa. My friends, Maldini and Boban are some gods of footbal, legends of AC Milan who know every detail of the game. Giampaolo is a master of coaching, you don’t know and understand more football than those people. Giampaolo want to increase the speed of his playing and he need the right players to do that, this is the reason he bring here Krunic, Bennacer… Read more »
U got a point
@Alexmilan….I couldn’t have said that better. Totally agree!
Have to agree on this. Angel had a bad season with athletico last year bcoz of many reasons. But over all he’s a good player with age on his side to unlock more of his potential. This could end up as a mastermind move! And i’m sure the management would do a loan option for this deal. Don’t think they’ll just splash 40-50 mil even if they sell Silva.
I don’t like this move at all. Why should Milan spend so much on a bench player who has not been tried? Yet they wouldn’t spend just 2 million more to secure Veretout, a warrior and a fighter whose qualities have been tried. If this deal goes through then Correa had better become world class because for that sum we can’t demand any less. Look at Andre silva today? He was never tried before we broke the bank for him. And now he is a liability. Look at Rodriguez, Kessie, Conti, Calhanoglu, Laxalt. The latter was bought for almost 20m… Read more »
Do you think Correa would have started ahead of Griezmann? That’s why he was a bench player. He is a good signing.
One of the guys don’t understand anything from football ! If he was the starter and we would have bought Griezmann, probably they would have commented the same.
I may have agreed with you but wait for the mercato to be ove and the season to kick off then you can see which player they really buy and how much they spend. Because for now there’s a lot of speculations in the news about players and prices which may not be true or just agents trying to give visibility to their players by giving false information to the media. For now it’s just rumors. They’ll buy a creative midfielder before the start of the season, they have time for that. The market is not easy especially for a… Read more »
El Bandito the problem with you is that you are still living in the past. This is Milan with chanalogu and Strinic not the Milan with George Weah or Vanbasten (for what it is worth we dont have this breed of players that play for pride and glory) Please Wake Up!!!!!!! What is the assurance that Depay or Bailey would come good for Milan? Depay wasnt even that good in Man U some years back, what a waste of money. The thing about transfer isnt to sign statistic but to sign players with CHARACTERISTIC that will fit a particular game… Read more »
Chill guys, i dont think Milan management will splash the cash for Correa considering FFP, even if Silva goes to Monaco or maybe Cutrone, Milan still need a good CB.. I believe the formula will be loan him with option to buy…
I don’t believe this.
I hope he never come to play for Milan , what kind of midfielder played 34 games 2 assists .
Well it Gianluca Di Marzio news it fake
Brilliant signing if we get him, we are building a great team with young players, top four here we come!
I’ll prefer to follow the trend so far. Milan has spent the most transfer fee on Theo €20mil. Milan agreed personal terms with Sensi, he is in Inter today, We agreed personal terms with Veretout, he is in Roma today, Correa is only a smoke screen as spending 50mil on him is a completely stupid move that I don’t expect Maldini to make. He will only come If Atletico agree a fee of 18-20mil or a loan with option to buy. If we had that cash(€50mil, Ceballos will be in Milan by now. NB. Suso haters, know that he is… Read more »
Agree with you. A lot of players you hear about it’s the media and their agent that are trying to highlight and show players. But nothing says the is the truth. We better wait and how the mercato goes and which players we get afterwards, because now it’s mostly rumors
As for Crutone, it’s better we sell him because we can’t guarantee him regular playtime as he wants since he can’t play along with Piatek
Facepalm.
So, Correa has one year left in his contract, his valoration is around 40M, and his wage is over the salary cap. I think Giampaolo identified him as our trequartista, and he definitely has the technical abilities to do it well, long shots nice vertical passes. His pass success ratio is around 70% and that doesn’t scare me. Hope this is not Matri/Pasalic/Borini 2.0
Correa has a contract until 2024 ! So the rest of your comment is irrelevant !
I am not sure Maldon and co will be so stupid to spend such an amount on a striker right now. I would rather they spend such an amount on Everton Suarez .or Cellabos…Midfield is where we have major headache now.
I don’t think we’ll spend that money in Corea unless we it’s a loan with option to buy.
If this is true then the “super agent” is playing Maldini & Boban. If this is true it means that once again we trusted a former legend with a job that he is not up to it. We need stability in our squad. We have most of the players we need. One or two quality signing would be enough. We are turning to AS Rome. Selling half the players & buying new players (or gambles). Or maybe even worse! We can’t sell any players! Instead of this bullshit movements, we should have signed Baka & a quality defender & promote… Read more »
I absolutely agree with you Balini. Finally someone with real sense. Man I just don’t get it. If this deal happens I will lose my trust for Maldini and Co. It’s like they are really being played by the agent who sold us Silva in the first place. It is as if Maldini and Boban are just too happy to naively acquire Correa only as a way to say “Thank You”. Yes, Milan never learn, but why?
Everyone is talking about Bennacer in Afcon, but did you guys see our Kessie play? That guy was a beast in Afcon, almost like an unpassable brick wall by opponents with an eye for an attack. Bennacer, Kessie and Paqueta in midfield will be a devastation for opponents if played right. I am more optimistic about Kessie, he is improving a lot. I have a feeling this is going to be the breakthrough year for Kessie if Giampaolo plays him. His only flaw is attempting to shoot at goal when there are players in better goalscoring positions.
Interesting point. I hope so. If that be the case I hope he keeps it up before retirement because the bay is not 22 like the age implies. He is probably going into his thirties according to the past controversies about his age. However if Kessie plays like Gattuso did in the same formation that Giampaolo is using as Ancelotti back in MIlan. The Kessie could actually turn world class and surpass Gattuso. Gattuso said it himself, Kessie is the better player than he ever was. The Ivorian is actually very technical. He needs to win more balls and be… Read more »
I have no glaring problem with milan potentially buying correa as i doubt it will be done in one installment anyways but if it means we will sell cutrone in the proces well then my answer would be a big N0. In regard of silva i never wanted him in milan to begin with and the fact that he requested to be loaned out last year as he wasnt willing to fight for his spot in the starting eleven just reinforced that view that he doesnt desserve or has the right mentality to be in our beloved club. When that… Read more »
André silva gone to monaco
Yeah just saw that a minute ago that he left the training camp but thanks for the update. Hopefully the sale will go through without any obstacles.
I feel that if we do end up getting Correa, we should use him as a atm. Why waste a goal machine like cutrone on the bench when we could force teams to worry about both cutrone and piatek. And if Correa is as tricky as they say, then he should be able to create tons of chances for both forwards. Lots of creativity from the midfield.
Donna
Calabria. Roman. Gabbia. Theo
Krunic.
Bennacer. Paqueta
Correa
Cutrone. Piatek
Nathan not that i have any issues with us playing both piatek and cutrone upfront but Correas prefferred position is right wing but can also play on the left and as second striker as well but i think if he is bought it will be a sign that he is bought for the second striker position. A transfer of Correa might suggest that suso is leaving so if needed we will still have that position covered with him. Hopefully if suso leaves for roma we will be able to persuade roma to strike a deal with us paying a fairly… Read more »
Why not buying Ziyech from ajax for 30 to 35 Million. The guy had an excellent season and showed no fear against big teams in CL. And you cannot compare him to the mediocre midfielders we have for the last 8 years.
He reminds me of Savicevic.
