Ángel Correa is a target of Milan and they will meet with Andrea Berta of Atlético Madrid to talk about him, according to Di Marzio.

Paolo Maldini said on Friday that Milan’s main focus is strengthening the midfield, but Sky’s Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the number one target for the attack is Atlético Madrid’s Ángel Correa.

The Argentine forward has a valuation of €55m, and according to Di Marzio on Calciomercato – L’originale, the contacts between Milan and the La Liga club for Correa will continue on Tuesday, when Atlético’s director Andrea Berta arrives in Milano.

Di Marzio reports that there’s a meeting scheduled between Berta and the leaders of Milan to move forward in the negotiations for Correa. Maldini, Boban and Massara will not fly with the squad for the United States Tour, and only CEO Ivan Gazidis is expected to join Marco Giampaolo’s side.

Correa, 24, has a high price tag and Milan will need to sell in order to make a move for him. Patrick Cutrone and André Silva are both linked with exists, and agent Jorge Mendes is reporting working behind the scenes to find new clubs for the Milan attackers. Di Marzio reports that on Thursday, Monaco vice President Oleg Petrov, was in Milano with Mendes as the French club wants Silva.

As for Cutrone, Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in the player but it’s said that Patrick is not too excited by the destination. Cutrone would rather stay or at least move to a bigger club.

I know a lot of people look at Correas stats and see 3 goals then make assumptions. Firstly, most of those appearances were off the bench and he was behind Griezmann, you can’t fault him for that. In the previous season, where he got a few more starts, he scored 8 goals. Not bad for a SS, and he should only continue to improve with more playing time. Other than that, the guy is incredibly quick and technical, cuts through defenses with his dribbling. If a 4312 formation is gonna work, you can’t have two static players on top. Piatek-Cutrone/Silva… Read more »

Well said bro. Coupled with fact that Simone football philosophy doesn’t help players Correa utilize their full potentials.

Totally agree. Cutrone would be useful to sub in for Piatek and he may have issues with that like last season. If not, I would prefer for him to stay but I won’t be devastated if either him and Andre Silva leaves.

agree, but €55 is too much, buy him in the range €30-€35

55 million is too much for Correa…its like A.Silva’s 38million….i Don’t think this deal is gonna takes place…its fake……we should try for Everton/Depay n Nabil Fekir….None of them will cost more than 40million

@EL92
Well he scored 20 goals in 130 games, not exactly mind blowing which ever way you slice it.

Cutrone has garnered 27 goals in 90 games. It is a rather impressive haul, considering how average the club have been in recent times. He has rarely been a regular starter, not to mention he does not take penalties or free-kicks, which would’ve considerably padded out his statistics.

but as a first team option putting the stats to the side for a moment cutrone would not be the answer for SS. we need 2 striker with different personalities. cutrone would not be more useful then correa. another thing something statistics don’t explain is that cutrone as great as he is coming off the bench he dosent offer much on the ball at all infact we lack this quality in allot of our players something correa is great at. someone who can not just run at a defence but really drill into them with some effectiveness. with what I… Read more »

@m4milan most of those 90 games almost 80+% came from the bench. Let him start for 6 months to a year and watch his goal ration go up. It’s no coincidence his goals dropped when he was benched for higuain and then piatek. Compare to his break out season when he out played Silva and kalanic, he played more and scored more often.

1. Everyone keeps saying cutrone is static? Really? Y’all def don’t watch the games bc he’s the ONLY forward who makes runs. We saw how even piatek wasn’t moving off the ball to make space. The announcers said that often. Cutrone and piatek played great together and set each other up multiple times in just the 1 game they started together and combined to get the first goal. 2. Cutrone doesn’t need super technical skill. We need him to play 1-2 touch lay offs which he does, and never hold on to long thus allowing the team to move. Plus… Read more »

It’s a big mistake for Milan to even consider selling Cutrone!!!

no its not. with the system we play with 2 strikers we have a player like cutrone who yes fits the system because he could come on for piatenk but we have a SS position that is currently empty which we desperately need to fill before the season starts and no club wants to buy our players except for maybe suso and definitely cutrone. we very much need these funds and the only way to do it is to sacrifice cutrone. so the only option with keeping cutrone is to leave the SS postion blank and use the players we… Read more »

This is a very bad business. At that amount of money, please go for Depay instead

really I will be honest with you. I would rather have correa then depay. im dutch and I watch depay often and he is great but he has this really bad habit of missing easy chances very similar to robinho when he was playing for Milan where he would miss easy chances in important games. depay is like that. As a Dutchman I really don’t find this news about depay as exciting as others. iv seen him to many times making these mistakes. believe me correa would be the better option

This can be worst idea, i know atleast three strikers woch can cover that position for less money, simply everything over 25 milions is to much, even Castilieho is more les same as Corea

Most likely fake news. Don’t get me wrong, Angel is a top player, but – 1. His price is too steep for us. 2. Now that A Madrid lost Griezman, it’s most likely he will play a more central position there (and so maybe this news is a tactic by his agent’s too increase his salary or something). 3. If we are going for the diamond midfield, then a secondary striker SS (as opposed to a real forward FW) is not really what we need – we have the trequista (Paquetta?) to play in the hole behind the strikers; two… Read more »

Not that I’m against this deal. I’m against the price. Correa has the potential to be a great player and coming into serie a and playing with piatek he could be deadly, but for that price there’s many other players. If we get him for 35-40m yes great deal but 55 is too much. Everton Soares showed how capable he is and he basically screamed a plea for milan to come and get him. There’s also depay who can play many roles. It’s a weird choice but maybe we can unlock his full potential

I think correa is a good player no doubt but then the price is too steep. Wat about we consider other cheap and quality alternatives like everton spares. He’s fast, has good technical abilities, versatile and has a good eye for goal. Besides he has been issuing come and get me pleas to join Milan. He’d probably cost 40 or 35 if we negotiate right.
We all know we don’t have dat kind of Money (55m) to throw around anymore, these are no longer the glory days.
