Reports: Milan increase their bid for Veretout to €18m plus €2m bonuses, Biglia is not included in the deal

Milan have made a new offer for Veretout and the parties are getting closer, but Fiorentina don’t want Biglia.

Fiorentina directors Daniele Pradè and Joe Barone arrived in Casa Milan this afternoon to talk with the leadership of the Rossoneri about Jordan Veretout.

The Frenchman has not been included in the Viola’s squad for the United States Tour and so it’s clear that he is likely to leave Firenze and Tuscany this summer.

The meeting between the parties lasted about an hour and according to Sky Italia and Gianluca Di Marzio, the meeting was fruitful. Di Marzio believes that steps forward have been made in the negotiations and that Milan are getting closer to the demands of Fiorentina for the 26-year-old.

Di Marzio says the Rossoneri have increased their bid but doesn’t mention the exact numbers. Sportitalia’s Alfredo Pedullà, however, reports that Milan are now offering €18m plus €2m of bonuses. Both Di Marzio and Pedullà agree, in any case, that Lucas Biglia is not included in the deal as Fiorentina do not wish to have him at the moment, despite the interest of coach Vincenzo Montella.

Roma are still in the race as well and are expected to meet Fiorentina today as well. Veretout likes the possibility of going to Milan and is pushing for a quick finish for this saga.

Milan need to get rid of a lot of players and purchase another 4. Give them Suso and Biglia and let’s get both Veretout and Pezzella in return. swap Silva for Neves and add 15M. Torino are interested in Laxalt, Valencia in Castillejo, several Permier League teams in Borini and just release A. Donnarumma and Strinic. Everton would be a cherry on the top.

Would be a really good signing. With him and Bennacer, we’d actually have a serious midfield. That being said, 20m is the max I’d pay for him, anything more is pushing it. Ngl I was pretty worried how Maldini would do in his first season in charge, but I’ve been impressed. Veretout and Bennacer are quality players. I hope both these deals go through. I understand some fans might say we didn’t sign any ‘top’ midfielder, but face it we don’t have the budget. Ceballos would’ve cost 50m. Instead we’re on the verge of getting a very good young midfielder… Read more »

I just watched Ivory coast with Algeria, Bennacer played as a CM and he didn’t really did well, he was maybe the worst player in the Algerian team. He is maybe young and talented but i feel some people here are over hipping him. It will be a gamble to compleatly depend on him for the deep playmaker position, Vetrout can play that position as well so maybe he will be the starter we will see. In the end is up to the coach, and since we didnt sign any “top” midfielder Gianpaolo will have a lot of work to… Read more »

After an exhausting season, he played almost all the games for empoli, he played as a starter all the games for algeria he has the right to play a bad game ? I think yes ! It was the 5 game for Algeria in a row in 2 weeks. He is fantastic and he will be our starter regista !

Yea he did looked tiered i tought of that to, but then again all the other players played a lot of games during those two weeks as well, i hope he will do better in Milan he is 21 and under the guidance of Giampaolo who is a proven youth talent developer he has a great opportunity to become a great player.

Just so you know , Algerian coach benched 9 starters in his 3rd game as they were officialy in top of their groupe, only the GK and Bennacer played that game. Add to that that they played against Ivory Coast at 18h in africa , and if you don’t know what that means , it means it was SO FREAKING HOT , and he played againts our TANK Frank Kessie , and two other tireless tanks with him , we’ve seen Kessie destroy worldclass midfilders like Naingolann last year , so it’s nothing strange seeing a 21yo tired played having… Read more »

Rumor has that Milan is offering Lazio 20m plus Cutrone for Joaquin Correa. What do you think about that?

Correa is a good player who’d be a nice signing, but he’s not worth that much. That deal is valuing him at almost 50m, while I think he’s in the 20-25 range. He mainly played as a sub at Lazio.

Lazio want 60m for Correa. I totally agree though that he’s not worth that much. We can get Everton Soares or Keita Balde for 40m. They are a good option as well.

If we’ll play 4-3-1-2 we need 4 strikers, so I don’t see Cutrone leaving us.

veretout like i said before although everyone has his opinion is a real good midfielder roma use to beat us with players like him for almost the last couple seasons. For only 18m plus bonuses is worth it

In my oppinion, Veretout is better than Barella, more experienced, played in French, England and Italy while Barella played only at Cagliari, without pressure ! Bennacer is way too good compared to Sensi ! Nice, Maldini !

That’s bs simply bs cause we all are milanistas doesn’t mean inter is bad. Barella is an amazing all round player who is way better than Veretout, plus he’s younger and will develop even more under Conte.

Milan having difficulties offloading their players – Suso, Biglia, Kessie, Laxalt, Borini, Strinic, Castillejo have no suitors. Until they are off the club’s books I cannot see any serious signings

I’m not surprised we are having difficulties offloading these players, well maybe except for Kessie.

But Inter and Juventus are in the same boat as well. They are having difficulties offloading Icardi, Nainggolan, Dybala, and Cuadrado to name a few.

Why would we want to offload Suso?
Just a simple question from a not too bright fan!

Deku

Suso is an average RW, he playes above average when all resources are put towards him but still he’s too inconsistent. the only position worth putting him in is SS but he’s physically too weak and easily knocked around by the oppossing team’s defense.

Suso is by no means an average player, whether you wish to define him by a position(RW), or otherwise. His stats over the past few seasons are testimony to that. His inconsistency is also relevant to that of the team.

I don’t see Suso playing any other position other than a 2nd striker. He’s definitely no trequartista as that role is more suited for Calhanoglu or Paqueta.

Milan will most likely offload Suso. Rumor has it we are trying to exchange him for Patrick Schick.

We can send Castellijo and Borini to Torino for Baselli and Kevin Bonifazi.

We cannot send Borini and Castillejo until we buy a second striker ! They are the only real options for the second striker, so if we sold them we need a second striker first, then a defender. If we buy Veretout we don’t need Baselli.

Milan need to sell in order to buy. The market is long so we have time but we need to offload players first which in our case will be difficult.

Joachim Andersen officially Lyon player for 24 millions + bonuses. That’s peanuts for a player of his caliber and potential. Hope now Milan won’t go and waste something like that for someone like Lovren/Pezzella/Nastasic.

Milenković of Fiorentina is also exciting player but I think they would want a fortune for him.

Once again Montella is their coach give them our “stars” like Suso maybe or we can give them both Suso and Laxalt +10m? in return or Milenkovic and Veretout.

I’m a little disappointed we didn’t go for Andersen but if we get someone like Upamecano then I’m satisfied.

Here s a crazy idea, since Milan wants to offload bunch of players some decent ones as well like Suso and Cutrone and they are also after a second striker, why not offer Suso+Cutrone (60mil) to Fiorentina and ask for a swap for Chiesa ??? Chiesa can play as a second striker and also a side mid, perfect for us. Suso and Cutrone will reunite with Montela under which they both had there best seasons, Fiorentina gets RW replacment right away plus a promising young striker which they also need, its a win win situation (we can trow in Biglia… Read more »

I will say this about Maldini and Boban – they chose a coach, and now are doing all they can to transform the squad to something that fits his style. 100% commitment behind their decision for a coach, and I 100% appreciate that.

Will it work? Imo it looks so far as quite a long shot. Hard to believe all this optimism on the blog, but maybe the sceptics are silent. Or maybe it’s our year to finally get super-lucky? Don’t know.

It can go either way, Giampaolo is a really god tactican and he seemed really eager to join Milan not just now but a few years back he refused a renew with Empoli because Milan was considering him for the coaching position. This shows a lot of devotion from him towards Milan, so im sure he is really motivated to do something special with this club. From another side we missed a lot of transfer targets, which will make Giampaolo job a lot harder.

What bothers me is that Maldini and Boban should pick the players to lead this Milan back to glorie, we are putting Giampaolo on an protagonist role as he aks for X player or characteristics.

I highly doubt it, but what if Giampaolo fails dramatically at Milan and gets sacked in December( again almost impossible) we will end having a 4312 and another year zero. What I mean, Giampaolo shouldn’t be the center of this project. It should be management.

I’m saying that all the hype Boban is building is even worst than when fassobelli told the team CL was essential and crucial to the project. Like I’ve been saying and will continue to say: If Giampaolo manages to get 10 more points we will be fighting Napoli for 2nd place, 6 more wins would put us in the fight for the scudetto. But we are building a new team, so its all a gamble full of kid, newcomers and pressure. A recepee for disaster if you ask, and if ( and I hope not) we miss CL Rino haters… Read more »

Rino haters said a good tactician gets the best out of his players, hence Gasperini was our best bet, now they change their mind and say Giampaolo needs key characteristics for his formation. Smh… I’m not happy with the transfer strategy as we’re spending on defenders when Abate and Zapata would coat only 5m of budget. I’m against selling Kessie if he leaves our midfield will get bullied trust me, Suso is rumored to ask for 6m of wage, if that’s true then we must sell him ASAP, if not then we should keep him. Under Montella he was used… Read more »

Raven i agree with what you are saying, we should not throw everything on one card there should be a plan B, thats why i mentioned something like going for some one like Chiesa who is a flexibale player who can play in more positions if we eventualy need to go back to 4-3-3 or some other formation if things dont go as well as expected.

Doubted we’d be able to get rid of Biglia, that would have been the bonus, although, why would they want him in Florence. No idea why we are going so strong for this guy.

Giampaolo wants midfielders that are fast, dribbler and can pick good throughpasses to break the opponents. You only need to create 5/6 chances to get a game. But he also wants two fast fullbacks to attack, just for the teams that would block attack-through-mid tactics. Hence, theo signing, and we have calabria on the right that’s perfect for Giampaolo tactics. Bennacer fits the midfield profile perfectly, as well as vertout. Paqueta perfect for trequartista. What we need is a LM and a SS. For SS, we can try Suso, if it doesn’t workout, we can sell him in January. We… Read more »
