Cristian Zapata has bid his goodbye from Milan as he’s about to begin new experience – most likely at Genoa.
The contract of Zapata will officially expire in 6 days and the center back looks set to stay in Italy with Genoa practically agreeing a deal to sign the 32-year-old.
Cristian joined Milan in 2012 from Villarreal and in the last season he showed that he’s capable of still providing strong performances. However, the club decided not to offer Zapata a two-year extension, and so the parties part ways.
“After seven wonderful years I leave Milan,” Zapata wrote on his Instagram account on Monday. “I want to thank the club for giving me the chance to play for one of the most prestigious teams in the world; all the teammates I had during this long and intense period, the Coaches who helped me grow as a footballer and as a man, all the guys at Milanello, my real friends and, above all, the fans: simply fantastic, you’ve always supported me and shown me incredible affection.
“Thank you everyone. That closes a chapter in my career, which will remain forever in my heart.”
Good luck everywhere u go and wish u all the best.
