There is no chance Alessio Romagnoli leaves the club this summer, Milan have apparently told Barcelona.
There is no doubt when it comes to Romagnoli’s attachment to Milan as the former Sampdoria man signed a contract extension with the club last summer, when the Chinese ownership was still in charge and it wasn’t even sure whether the Rossoneri would participate in Serie A due to financial problems.
After Elliott took over and Leonardo Bonucci returned to Juventus, Romagnoli was named the captain of Milan and he was one of the top performers for the club in the 2018-19 season, in which the Diavolo finished 5th.
According to Milannews.it, Barcelona tried to test the waters and requested information about the situation of Romagnoli, to understand if a move can be facilitated. However, as reported by Pietro Mazzara, the answer of the Milan environment was clear and emphatic: Alessio is not for sale.
Romagnoli is a cornerstone upon which the new Milan will be built. The Rossoneri are looking to sign at least one center back this summer, but the future of the 24-year-old is not in question.
