Report: Sevilla’s Muriel has been offered to Milan, the Rossoneri have still not given their answer

Luis Muriel, who worked with Marco Giampaolo before, has been proposed to the Diavolo in the last few days.

New Milan coach Marco Giampaolo will be using a 4-3-1-2 formation at Milan next season, and so the club could be on the market for a second striker.

Some think that André Silva, who will be returning from an unsuccessful loan spell at Sevilla can fill this role, but Milan have a few names on their list for this position.

One of the names is Luis Muriel, who according to Milannews.it’s Antonio Vitiello, has been offered to the club recently. Muriel spent the second half of the last season at Fiorentina, scoring 9 goals in 23 games, but the Viola chose not to use their buy-out option, and is still owned by Sevilla. Before moving to Sevilla, he played for Giampaolo at Sampdoria scoring 13 goals in 33 appearances.

Maldini met Alessandro Lucci yesterday and the agent represents Muriel. Milan have still not given their answer on Muriel, but Pietro Balzano Prota says if a deal happens it’d only be loan + option.

Instead of spending money on Luis muriel, silva can still be given a chance . I still believe he can be a better backup option for our two strikers. Spend the money on quality midfielders

I disagree with that. Muriel is a proven striker in Serie A unlike Silva who is a 40m flop. He cost more than Piatek and he’s not even half as good. Milan should sell him and reinvest that money in Muriel or Keita Balde. Proven 2nd strikers that will add value to Milan.

These names are not what we need. Perhaps this is what Leo couldn’t agree on with this club. Days of being link/signing players like SMS and Paqueta seems to be over with his departure. There are two main transfer rules we should fellow. Any player around 27 yrs and above should already be top level as they don’t have much room for improvement, and ones around 23 years and below must at least have huge potential. Non of Ventout Krunic Lovren Muriel perfectly fits in either of the categories regardless of what great back ups they would be and why… Read more »

Well, muriel – piatek certainly would look good, at least on paper because their styles complement each other perfectly. Kinda like del pippo or yorke – cole. However, muriel’s (and sevilla’s) refusal to join milan last season even though milan had already given them andriy silva still irks me to this day.

His refusal was only because he had given Fiorentina his word prior to Milan’s interest in signing which I can understand.

It worked out well for us because we got Piatek and we can still get Muriel.

Had it been the other way around Piatek value would have been more than double what we paid and therefore Milan wouldn’t able to afford signing him especially with teams like Real Madrid in the mix.

Muriel would be a good signing. Either Muriel, Keita Balde or Joaquin Correa would be a great 2nd striker to pair with Piatek.

Why is cutrone still a topic for transfers when he’s proven he can score goals when not even a starter. Imagine if we actually gave him a chance and allowed him a season or even half a season to show what he can do as a starter. Along side piatek we would score lots of goals and they have already proven they can play with each other. Hell cutrone has proven he can play with anyone if given the chance and has usually out performed them

Cutrone wants to leave Milan for more playing time. He’s not happy playing second fiddle to Piatek.

I would like to see where you saw that he wants to leave. Can you provide a link that’s been on more than 1 source if possible. Also we are going to play 2 strikers and he’s shown he can play with literally anyone so it wouldn’t make sense to leave now

Do your own research bro. It was all over the media and web last season that Cutrone and Gattuso had problems over playing time. Smh

Also Giampaolo likes to play with a 2nd striker similar to Keita Balde, Kouamé or Joaquin Correa. Piatek and Cutrone are penalty box poachers. Too similar unlike a Sheva-Inzaghi where Sheva would drop off deep to get involved in the build up play.

Well seeing as how I have looked at news every single day and already know about him wanting more game time. However never did it say he wants to leave. It was a possibility but those words never came out of his mouth. Also yes they are both penalty box strikers, cutrone has consistently shown come back back deeper and make runs outside and vice versa. He is very mobile and in that sense him and piatek are very diff. They have played together and each time it looked good and with more time together would have worked

People might call me crazy but I think a partnership of piatek-Silva or piatek-Muriel would be better than a piatek-cutrone. Cutrone and piatek are too similar of players to be playing together. They make the same movements have the same characteristics but piatek is just better. The other two would compliment piatek better and it wouldn’t be wise to let Silva go because we wouldn’t get more than what we paid for him while cutrone is pure profit. I like cutrone a lot but i just don’t see him hitting his potential at milan. Especially if hes a bench player.… Read more »
