Gianluigi Donnarumma ended the season with an injury and will miss the upcoming national team games.

Gigio was forced to leave the pitch of Stadio Paolo Mazza 20 minutes into the last game of the season last night after injuring himself following a goal kick.

“The club announces that Donnarumma has undergone medical exams to verify the extent of his injury, showing damage to the goalkeeper’s right hamstring muscle,” a statement on the Rossoneri’s website reads on Monday evening.

The season is over for Milan so his injury does not have any impact on them. However, Italy will have to do without their starting goalkeeper for the two EURO 2020 qualification matches against Greece (June 8th) and Bosnia and Herzegovina (July 11th); Gigio is not in Roberto Mancini’s squad.

Donnarumma had an overall good season, he cost Milan points in some games (most famously in the first derby of the season) but he also saved the Rossoneri on numerous occasions.
