Gianluigi Donnarumma was pleased with the win over Barcelona and said he jokes a lot with Pepe Reina in training.
Milan finished their International Champions Cup commitments with a win over Barcelona at Levi’s Stadium.
The Rossoneri were far from convincing against Barca and were in fact dominated by the reserves and youngsters of the La Liga champions. However, Milan managed to keep a clean sheet thanks to an excellent performance from Gigio Donnarumma, and then got a goal in the 92′ minute from André Silva.
“Congrats to the team who never gave up and we managed to score the winning goal at the last gasp. Victory for teamwork,” Donnarumma, who won the MVP award, told reporters. “We knew Barcelona play like this, keeping possession and moving the ball around quickly but we did well to hold them.
“Pepe Reina? Besides being a teammate, he’s also a great friend. We’re training well, we’re joking and we make fun of each other, we’re a really good group.
“The tour? It went well. We trained well and we are ready for the start of the season.”
Nice game Gigio, it’s nice to see the smile of his again, last season must have been hard, hopefully the coming season/s will be much more joyous for all of us together!
Nice to see him regain his confidence but it would be prudent from our part to sacrifice him for fifa fair play. Sure he has amazing potential but he also has Raiola as his agent which is like a noose around our necks. If he has good season there is no reason why we can’t get close to 80m for him like Roma did with Alisson. With that money we have healthy stream of budget to add further quality to our team. Let’s not forget we have Reina in the interim for next 2-3 seasons and potentially Plizzari to become… Read more »
His smile says it all
I’m thrilled he’s happy again
I was at the Barca – Milan match , from what I witnessed it’s clear that we are not ready for the new season, kessie was pathetic, him and Locatelli lost possession at will , my boy suso was clearly unfit infact the whole 1st eleven was poor, until some changes were made in the second half, we have two more weeks to get the team in tip top shape, with our new signings I hope will be able to compete with juve and Roma.
We should by one from Bakayoko or Samassekou (we need muscles) and maybe Kjaer if Zapata goes.
We should offer Borini + Locatelli + $ for Barella
We should offer Suso + $$ for Modrić
And of course sell Biglia, Kalinić, Bacca, Jose Mauri, Montolivo, Bertolacci, Antonelli…
I know… pure fantasy football :)
