Ivan Strinić’s Milan career started today and he’s said that even though he didn’t have much time to rest, he’s ready to fight for his place in the starting XI.
Today began the new chapter in the career of Ivan Strinić as the left-back arrived to training center Milanello for his first day as a Red and Black player.
“I’m feeling great. I am in one of the top clubs in the world and I’m really happy to be here. Milan are famous all over the world, especially in Croatia,” Strinić told MilanTV.
“The World Cup? We are happy with the second place, unfortunately we didn’t come first but we must all be happy [with what we did], us players and the Croatian fans. I haven’t had much time to recharge the batteries, 10-15 days, not a lot, but I’m ready to play a good season.
“Maurizio Sarri and Gennaro Gattuso? Sarri is a great manager. He has a great personality. I haven’t had much time to speak with Gattuso but I think we will get on well. Here at Milan, there are Ricardo Rodriguez and other fullbacks; I’m ready to fight to play from the start, but we’ll see what happens because the season is long and we all have to be ready to play a good season.
“I’m at Milan and Šime Vrsaljko is at Inter? We hope to have a good season, to win and to win the derby!” The derby is on Matchday 9, but first Milan have to go through Genoa, Napoli and Roma.
