The new organizational chart at Milan is said to be almost complete, and there may be room for Paolo Maldini as well.

The era of Elliott officially began on Saturday with a shareholders meeting and then a Board of Directors meeting.

The club announced in a statement that Marco Fassone had been relieved of his duties as CEO (he is expected to sue Milan over his sacking), and that a new CEO had already been identified and would be announced in ‘due course’.

According to Il Sole 24 Ore, the new CEO will be Ivan Gazidis, who currently holds the Executive Director position at Arsenal. Gazidis’ name has been mentioned for quite some time and earlier reports suggested that he will officially arrive by September, and he will terminate his current contract with the Gunners.

The role of the General Manager, Il Sole 24 Ore claims, will be filled by Umberto Gandini. The director left Milan on September 2016 after 23 years and since then acted as the CEO of Roma. But now he’s ready to return to Casa Milan and his ties at UEFA could be of help for the Diavolo.

Leonardo, as already reported by other sources, will be responsible for the technical area and the official is expected as soon as an arrangement is made for the sacking of Massimiliano Mirabelli. Il Sole 24 Ore writes that as Leonardo arrives, the return of Paolo Maldini cannot be excluded.

The new Milan is rebuilding and after the change in the President role and the firing of Fassone, new personnel are ready to take their place on the headquarters to create the Milan of Elliott.

Is Gazidis any good?
Anybody knows?

Naz

Hey Ink, Don’t know much about him but from what I’ve been reading he’s pretty much 50/50 between Arsenal supporters, half like him while the other half don’t

Ink

Thanks mate.
Guess we will see how it goes.

Naz

These guys don’t hang around and weather you like who they’ve brought in or not you have to admire the fact that they set there sights on people and just went and got them, encouraging signs

I think we as fans, do not need to worry about who runs the show and which personnel constituted the executive board of executive board as long as we have results ( results are elusive for a long time now ). Since, Maldini will not join unless given decision making power ( kind of like a major shareholder ), which is unlikely, hence Leonardo emerges. I am amazed some of the vile comments that have been made here about him. He is a professional and will work whoever employs him. Having said that, he was the guy who brought Kaka… Read more »

To add,

It was Leonardo that has convinced Adidas to bought Kaka for Milan. 🙂

Arsenal has not been successful but has been financially strong so bringing in there ceo is a good move Leonardo has a eye for talent we have a amazing lineup of junior primavera talent so if he can find a couple of young players like a kaka as he has in the past then we’re doing great and if Maldini returns then this board has to get our backing with Gattuso in the helm and all the inter bred management gone than this will truly be a new era for our beloved club

Ted

Arsenal have become financially stable, one of few clubs in the world of football who are in green numbers year in year out since Gazidis is there

But they’ve also became a selling club under Gazidis, focusing on profit from other sources rather than winning thropies and that’s why Arsenal supporters are divided

He is a good pick in my opinion. Financially Milan will be stable. As far as the transfers and the team goes, Gandini will return to us from Roma and with Leonardo I strongly believe we will finally create a world class team. Especially now that we have the right people at the top who knows what they are doing. I’m a fan of Gattuso but I’m still not confident he has what it takes as I would prefer someone more experienced like Conte to come onboard but every man deserves a fair chance. And I will support Gattuso as… Read more »

Exactly that Ted, I have two friends who are Arsenal supporters, and they’re both divided, it’s pretty curious to see. One of them dislikes him because he is first and foremost a businessman who thinks of money so he wont be afraid to sell star players. Hopefully we are more succesful and stronger so we can keep our star players contrary to Arsenal. The other friend doesn’t agree that fans dislike him, and thinks he is good and now when Wenger left he has turned things around and implemented systems that are well functioning for years to come, and he… Read more »

There are increased reports about Bonucci returning to Juve while Milan are tempted if Juve insert Higuain in the deal

He came, took over the armband even when god knows his performances were shaky, far from what we expected and would now be open to a return to Juve?

If it turns out to be true and a deal comes to life, Bonucci indeed is a gobbo and the worst captain Milan had since ever. Shame on him

Jibola

The foundation to success of every club lies in the club structure and seeing how Elliott is starting, success isn’t too far from Milan. Leonardo was mad at Berlusconi and took Inter’s job to spite him, that was a massive betrayal and he knows it. Aside that, Leonardo was a great servant of AC Milan “on and off” the pitch. It’s time for us as true Milan fans to forgive and forget and let’s move forward. Even Galliani text him the day he left the job at Inter after a ling time to reconcile their differences and Gatuso too recently… Read more »

Agreed! It was a diffrent time and diffrent Milan. Time to look forward and Leonardo is obviously capable.

Time for a new coach. Can’t have a coach that could not beat the big 4 teams. No use thronghing away 80 million at another season. Please bring in Conte.

Time for a new coach also. Can’t have a coach that could not beat the big 4 teams. No use throwing away 80 million as another year of losses for the season. Please bring in Conte.
