José Mauri was happy to finally return and says ‘we must win’ against Roma.

The 21-year-old midfielder has only made 4 appearances this season and his last game before featuring in last night’s 1-0 win over Ludogorets, was against Rijeka at Stadio San Siro on September 28.

The ex-Parma man has been struggling with injuries and has virtually found no real space since joining Milan in 2015, but in any case, Mauri was pleased to finally return to the pitch yesterday.

“I’m happy after playing the last half an hour of the match. I felt like a player again,” the Argentine told MilanTV at the end of the encounter. “I was really looking forward to it after being side-lined for two months. I get angry when things go wrong, and I really wanted to bounce back.

“I never really felt like I wasn’t part of the group, my teammates, who I’ve known for a long time, have never made me feel that way, neither have the staff. This is something very positive that allows me to give my all always in every training session.

“Gattuso? I like this type of people who tell you things in the face. Roma? We must win.”
