Ignazio Abate and Marco Storari have apparently been ruled out of Saturday’s match, but the situations of Kalinić and Gigio still need to be clarified.
Milan beat Inter 1-0 in the Coppa Italia quarter final last night to advance to the tournament’s next stage but did so at the cost of losing three players to injury.
Marco Storari suffered an injury during the warm-up (which meant Antonio Donnarumma was given his Milan debut), while Ignazio Abate and Nikola Kalinić were both unable to finish the game and were substituted in the 53′ and 73′ minutes.
According to Sky Italia’s Peppe Di Stefano, the tests Storari underwent this morning showed no calf injury, but he still has to rest for at least 8-10 days. Abate, meanwhile, suffers from contracture to his right calf and his situation will be evaluated in the coming days, meaning he’ll miss Fiorentina.
Kalinić could also miss out on the trip to his former stadium due to a traumatic injury in the area between his foot and his ankle, as he was stomped on by Milan Škriniar in last night’s derby. The condition of the striker will be assessed tomorrow to see if he can make the squad for Saturday.
Gigio Donnarumma will also undergo more tests tomorrow to see if he can recover from his injury in time for Fiorentina (12:30 CET kickoff), but it’s not impossible that his brother will start again.
