Milan to meet with Fiorentina for Kalinić this week, reportedly ready to offer €25m for the Croatian striker

Milan want another striker and it’s said they could make their first bid later this week for Nikola Kalinić.

The Rossoneri announced the arrival of André Silva from Porto for €38 million + €2 million bonuses yesterday, and at the time of the signing, director of sport Massimiliano Mirabelli said that the Milan mercato will slow down a bit now.

But according to Gianluca Di Marzio, it doesn’t really seem to be the case as by the end of the week a meeting is expected to take place between Mirabelli and Fiorentina’s Pantaleo Corvino, in which the Diavolo are ready to make a bid for Kalinić.

Kalinić has the esteem of Vincenzo Montella and Di Marzio claims the Rossoneri are willing to make an offer worth €25m for the 29-year-old. The Viola value the player, whose contract expires in June 2019, at €30m and it seems that there is optimism that a deal can be found between the parties.

Last night there were also reports coming from Spain suggesting Milan had found an agreement with Fiorentina for Borja Valero (€10 million), but Milannews.it and SportItalia claim that there has been no contact between the sides over the midfielder and there is absolutely no deal in place for Borja.

La Gazzetta adds that if Milan can’t land Kalinić then they will look for a different striker with a similar valuation. No Morata, Aubameyang or Belotti, Milan seem to have chosen André Silva-Kalinić.

A big no to kalinic! 25-30m is a way too much for him. I’d rather keep lapadula and get ibrahimovic on a free transfer and wait till January. He’s 10 times the player he is! Keep lapadula this season get ibra and him lapadula and Silva will light it up! Why throw that money away on a 29 year old who isn’t great. Use that money for someone like James.

Ibra had a bad knee injury and at his age his career is most likely on the downward trail if not over since no one can say for sure how he will recover. It is more risky to get Ibra on his high wages than to sign Kallinic who is a proven goal scorer in Serie A and much younger than Ibra. You guys want a 35yr old striker with high wages and a bad knee injury over a 29yr old striker in his prime? Some of you are starting to sound like Galliani. Smh! I would rather Milan take… Read more »

Totally disagree with you.while respecting your opinion. But kalinic would mean 30m to get him plus his wages which would be at least 2m per season. Kalinic maybe has 3 years of good football before his decline. I understand ibra is old and had a bad knee injury. But ibra is a world class striker and he’ll come back. He’s been recovering quick and is already walking and when we were last linked with him he was willing to lower his wages. For one year or 6 months even if he demands 8m he’s still better than kalinic. At the… Read more »

Galliani made the same fatal decision when we signed Brazilian Ronaldo “El Phenomenon” and we all know how that turned out.

A knee injury like that at his age means that Ibra will be collecting a handsome paycheck for nothing.

Why do you think Man United were so quick to get rid of him?

Bad move bringing back Ibra but I will respect your opinion.

Ronaldo is different. He was over weight and even when he did play he played well. Ibra up until 6 months ago was the best striker in the prem league. I’m sure even at his age will recover from it and be a beast. He will surely help in serie a and the europa. He’s just the player to lead us into champions League. Would you want tk be tied down with kalinic until he’s old and useless or would u get a world class striker for free and then next year have the funds for someone like belotti. I… Read more »

People for years have been saying ibra is getting old he’s not the same. And then every season he gets better and better. He joined the prem and played amazing and would have been a top goal scorer had he not get injured. My mouth waters just thinking how much better players like suso Silva bonaventura will play with ibra on the team! Ibra is a free agent, that is unbelievable. Guy to this day is top 5 in the world and would only make players around him better. Sign him on a year and option with two if he… Read more »

I do agree with you, dembele would be preferred second striker. But as I said earlier, i rather get Forsberg and another midfielder or conte.
Our defence is good. So it is important we can boss the midfield, because if we can not, then the striker will have hardly a touch of the ball, like bacca did this season. So get a dominant and powerful mid that is capable off linking our defence and mid and attack.

We still need a striker to replace Bacca. So there is no getting around that as it is clear Bacca is not in Montella’s plans for this season. So Kallinic or Dembele is a must for Milan since it is hardly like that Andre Silva, Lapadula and Niang will be enough quality in that dept. I believe Fassone and Maribelli are still planning to sign Forberg and Grezgorz Krychowiak as alternative to Keita Balde and Lucas Biglia. Keita Balde has a strong desire to join Juventus and Lazio high asking price for Biglia who is 31yrs old is beyond ridiculous.… Read more »

the way we buying players i think we will play 3-5-2, attack oriented fb-s and looking for 1 more striker.. kalinic is good player he knows to score but still i would go for ibra plus young striker to take his place in year or 2, firstly finance growth from ibra would be massive! who would buy kalinic shirt? second ibra is at 35 and still in 5 best strikers in the world i watched him play this year for mu it was same level as he did for milan, third silva could learn much from him and all squad… Read more »

loan D. Costa for 6 mounts before he go to atl. madrid…
in january Costa leave & Zlatan ready to play, next season we can try to get Belotti (cheaper price),

we get top striker without buying,
we avoid FFP, we just need creative play maker like Ozil / Calhanoglu / Modric even Iniesta maybe…

ozil highly unlikely calhanoglu i like watched german football alot this year but he would be rly expensive.. for creative player we should go for fabregas if there is chance or goretzka (20m due to contract expiring 2018).
from leverkusen i like tah kid is beast and would come in handy for 3 5 2 just also think its unlikely they would sell

Kelechi Iheanacho is available for 20 million. Can someone please explain me why are we not going for a young striker.Yes maybe he is not proven but given playtime these players are definitely gonna shine. Its not for nothing that these players are so highly rated.Even if not him then at least Dembele…Youri Tielemans went to Monaco for only 20 million and here were offering more than that to Biglia.God knows what happens.Maybe their wages are too high? How come a player chooses a club like Monaco? What history do they have?We have the history. Its an honour man, wearing the red and black jersey is… Read more »

With the many wide players we have and are signing he will be a great target man with a big presence in the penalty box. Not to forget his serie a experience coming in as an added bonus. Would be a welcome addition for me. Hope he signs soon, fingers crossed.

It seems that Bacca will accept Marseille’s offer. Hope the deal is true and Milan can use the money for Kalinic. After Kalinic : get a real attacking midfielder….Forsberg of leipzig or Gonzalo Martinez of River Plate, please.
Martinez is #10 in his club and he is 24 y.o all rounder attacking midfielder. Truly a good investment for the club.

I don’t know why Milan is trying to sign Kalinic. I am affraid Lapadula is going to be traded to Atalanta as part of Conti’s deal. Rather than focusing on another striker, why don’t Milan focusing on real deal midfielders? Here are some prospective names for long term developments : – Forsberg of Leipzig : 25 y.o, his stats on attacking is one of the best in bundesliga. However, he isn’t all rounder midfielder. His best position is left AM – Fabinho of Monaco : 23 y.o, brazilian. He is 188 cm! His stats is slightly better than N’golo Kante… Read more »

I have heard enough of dollarumma now. I tried to find excuses that he loves milan but now he really needs to leave milan. It was a simple question with an answer yes or no. if it was a no we could have moved on but he violated the deadline day. Now whether dollarumma accepts or not, he wont be the same dollarumma for me.

My wish I’d for donnarumma to stay, but I don’t like the fact he’s playing around. I don’t care if mino is trying to insert clauses. Don’t know where you got that comparison from but Bacca and Kallinic are two different type and style players. Bacca cannot play outside the penalty box and clearly doesn’t do enough or any defensive work. He just waits for someone to pass him the ball. If we don’t get rid of Bacca now we will be stuck with him. It’s smart to offload him in this transfer window. Besides, I honestly believe Milan is still pursuing Belotti but it’s too early for Cairo to accept Milan’s bid just in case someone is crazy enough to pay the 100mil release clause… Read more »

Donnarumma is being a punk. There are reports milan gave in to raiola’s champions league clause. I wish if we gave in to a clause, it states that if we make the ucl your little, selfish, money making clause goes away. I’m super disappointed in this kid.

Yes his agent is orchestrating this mess, but he is letting his agent deteriorate donna’s relationship with the club and fans. Donna can still come out and commit to the club. In the end he’s in charge and raiola is serving HIM. Raiola probably told him to keep his mouth shut, but in the end, in my opinion, donnarumma has the power and he’s not using it.

Yes, read the same thing online. I’m really jumping over the moon right now because we are still tracking Forsberg, Valero, Conti, Duncan and Biglia.

We need the right mix of youth and experience so I don’t mind having Biglia and Valero despite their age. Very creative players.

Besides, Lazio are willing to a accept a lower fee according to the latest rumors on the web.
