Gabriel Paletta’s future is unclear but his agent doesn’t rule out an extension.
Paletta was a starter for most of the last season, but with Musacchio joining the squad and most likely becoming Alessio Romagnoli’s partner, Paletta could be on the move in search for more playing time.
Paletta has been linked with a move back to Atalanta, and today his agent spoke to Milannews.it about what the future holds for the 31-year-old center back.
“The coach is happy with Paletta,” Martin Guastadisegno told Milannews.it. “He’s played 28 matches and he’s fine. We’ll see what happens, we’ll talk with Milan soon and then we’ll make a decision.” Gabriel probably would’ve made more appearances if he didn’t have to spend so much time suspended, as the player was sent off 5 times during the course of the season – the-joint most red cards in the history of Serie A.
Paletta’s contract with the Rossoneri expires in 2018. He joined the club from Parma in 2015, making a total of 40 appearances, the Argentine-born Italian also has three caps for the Azzurri.
I wouldn’t mind if Paletta and Zapata remained at the club as subs, decent backups if you ask me.
If other serie a teams want milan to keep zapata then theyre gonna have to pay his wage
Zapata has just been as good as Pauletta when given game time plus he is a year younger and collects less yellows and reds. Let they Pauletta go and promote Gabbia or De Santis from loan. Those youngsters are gems.
We can keep Paletta as a “decent” back up but Zapata just has to go ANYHOW.

Paletta is too slow, he’s too old and he seems to have an affair with red cards ( those red cards cost Milan valuable points this season). So why should Milan keep him?
