Mateo Musacchio will be the first summer purchase of the Rossoneri, according to Sky’s Gianluca Di Marzio.
Milan tried to sign him last summer but couldn’t complete the deal due to the delays in the ‘closing’, but the takeover finally happened last month, and the new management seems eager to buy the 26-year-old Argentine defender.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Milan director of sport Massimiliano Mirabelli was in Madrid last night, and managed to close the deal with Villarreal for Musacchio, whose contract with the La Liga outfit expires in 2018.
The Sky reporter, during ‘Calciomercato – L’originale’ last night, said that the Rossoneri have agreed a €18m plus bonuses deal with Villarreal, and are ready to give the player a contract for four years.
Milan also showed interest in Lazio’s center back Stefan De Vrij but it seems that an agreement there was not possible. The new management seems to trust in Musacchio to be Alessio Romagnoli’s long-term partner in defense.
It’s also believed the Diavolo are looking to get a striker and Sky suggests that Mirabelli is keeping in contact with Morata’s agent. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is another target, albeit an unlikely one.

I don’t think Kessie is overrated. He’s a very good player with a lot of strength and also good with the ball at his fit. He shoots better and also has an eye for goal. Plus he’s younger and have a lot of room for improvement…..In my opinion, he can be our Pogba or Yaya Toure…..Forza MiLan

It does not make sense to keep Plizzari as backup to Donna, the kid is too good to be 2nd choice at this stage of his career. Probably better to loan him to a newly promoted team so he gets valuable playing time then after 2 seasons we decide if we wanna sell him for a tidy sum or bring him back as a backup so he plays cup games. Just so you know, Gianluca Di Marzio is one of the most credible people out there, so unless there’s a twist in the tale and/or we wont find an agreement with Musacchio, the deal is pretty much done, since he’s the one who reported it.
Just a quick thought of mine:
– 433 is not functional as we see. Change for example to 4312. Montella played with Sampdoria also 3412, 352 etc.
– If Bacca stays and Milan get Keita who plays also up front, we can easily send back Deulofeu. He proved to be too selfish.
– Considering Milan has Musacchio deal in place and will need a new LB and few midfielders, then we could try

Pellegrini won’t come cheap either, it is reported Roma has buyback clause set at 8 millions and they are willing to buy him back and sell for 30 millions rather than intergrate into Roma team. Bertolacci story all over again though he is a talented lad not like Bertolacci.

With reasonable purchases such as Musacchio and if we can convince Kolasinac on bosman our defense is set for 18 millions. Consider also the money from Bacca, Niang, De Sciglio and other garbage that are bound to leave.

Galliani did actually go for musachio last summer but the ownership delays and limited funds (montella on sosa 8m & berlu on lapa15m) there wasnt left much Enough to spend.
