Vincenzo Montella has decided he won’t risk the center back against Inter.
Even though chances of Romagnoli playing in the derby have been on the rise since yesterdays training, Sky Sport journalist Peppe Di Stefano reports that the young Rossoneri defender will attend the match from the stands.
Romagnoli suffered an adductor injury on Tuesday, representing Italy in a friendly match against Germany. Even though he was substituted at half time, Milan’s medical team was unsuccessful in getting Alessio fit for the deby.
There had been some chance of him overcoming the injury, especially yesterday when he participated with the rest of the team in finishing practice, but unfortunately he felt some discomfort in his groin during this morning’s practice. Consequently, Milan’s technical and medical team, together with the player, have decided that he will not participate in the match (20:45 CET / Italian time kickoff) against the cross town rivals in order for him to fully recover from the injury.
His place, alongside Palleta, will be taken by Gustavo Gomez. Given the form in which Romagnoli has been playing recently, Montella will surely have a hard time in getting his defense tight for tonight.
Sad but I don’t care about who starts tonight I only hope we win and contain Inter’s strikers. Forzamilan!!

Milan will play better as team since they know Romagnoli is not playing. I believe Milan will beat Inter 3-0 and leapfrog Roma who lost today to Atalanta.
