Jose Mauri is likely to leave – on a dry loan – while Jose Sosa could occupy Riccardo Montolivo’s role if Milan fail in bringing a regista in the next days.
After last week’s report that Jose Mauri is close to joining Empoli on a loan deal with option to buy, Milannews.it and Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia are now reporting a different formula.
Milan had meetings with Empoli and with Mauri’s agent today at Casa Milan and it’s reported that the player has now given his okay to joining the squad of Giovanni Martusciello although personal terms still need to be agreed. If he finds an understanding with Empoli, he’ll join them on a one-year dry loan deal.
Adriano Galliani said that ‘if no one leaves then no one will come’, but with Mauri’s expected exit it’s possible that Milan will try to sign another midfielder. However, Sky’s Di Stefano claims that if the Rossoneri don’t get a regista (midfielder in front of the defense), then Jose Sosa could be tried there.
Pasalic arrived but he’s not a regista either while Sosa is accustomed to playing in a more advanced role. If no one comes, Montella will try to find a vice-Montolivo (replacement?) from within the squad.
