Gianluigi Donnarumma has made history, as Giampiero Ventura picked him along with other 5 Milan players for the Italy squad to face France and Israel.
Giampiero Ventura replaced Antonio Conte as the boss of the Italian national team and today (Saturday) he announced his first squad as the Azzurri are set to face France in a friendly on September 1st and then Israel for a 2018 World Cup qualifier match on September 5th in Haifa.
Ventura has decided to take 6 Milan players with him and one of them is Gianluigi Donnarumma, who has now become the youngest player to be called-up by Italy in 105 years.
The only ones younger than Gigio to get a call-up were Rodolfo Gavinelli (16 years, three months and eight days), Renzo De Vecchi (16 years, three months and 23 days) and Luigi Barbesino (18 years and two months) who were all called up for international duty between 1910 and 1911.
Donna, 17 years, 6 months, who just made his U21 debut in March, is joined by Alessio Romagnoli who gets his first call-up to the senior side, as well as by Luca Antonelli, Mattia De Sciglio, Riccardo Montolivo and Giacomo Bonaventura. They’ll go to training center Coverciano tomorrow.

Very outstanding achievement. I hope when he retires he’ll have done so much that milan retire his number, like they did maldini and baresi.
Also, ventura (italian boss) call up bonaventura (milan b***), nice.
What is it with word “ventura” thats so endearing (ace ventura anyone). *wink
it has nothing to do with the name Ventura, just be happy that more MIlan players can maybe have a much better chance to feature in the NT as opposed to the last coach…who for some reason didn’t feature more than one Milan player in NT last season!
Of course it does. If jaaack’s real name was bonaconte im sure conte wouldve picked him for euro 16.
Italy NT now has many Milan players compared to last year. Let’s go Milan…. Forza Milan
I love this but I wish Abate was called up….I bleed Red n Black(ForzaMilano)
Just back to d squat with no injuries…..
6 Milan players in the NT? Including Montolivo?? Ventura must be a Milan fan. LOL
Honestly, Donnarumma, Antonelli, Romagnoli and Bonaventura deserved it last season…
DeSciglio deserved it on Euro…
Monty on the other hand…
If Im honest Abate should be called up instead of Montolivo, and should take his armband in Milan..
just be happy that we have more Milan players in the NT
I thought milan had 15M to get one midfilder
Vazques
Soriano
Zelenski
Diawara
they got All sold for less than 15M
but milan faild becouse
they did not have 25/30M
for Vazques or Soriano
and they did not have 20M
for Zelenski or Diawara
Bollshit they are not honnest to the club and to the fans how can milan fans accept this All those layers.
Grande Gigio! Well Deserved
I expected Abate to be called up, instead it’s Monto…well at least Abate can maybe get some rest during the international break so he may be fit and ready when the season resumes!
6 Milan players, 5 Juve players. The beginning of New era! Forza Milan
What impresses me the most about donnaruma is not even his skill set. It’s his confidence and his attitude that seperates him from other young players. The kid is barking orders to players almost twice his age and I have never seen nerves get the best of him since he became out number 1. That kind of mental strength is what turns young stars with potential into world class players. I hope he keeps this up, he can be something special if he already isn’t. Also, the chance to train with a legend such as Buffon will greatly help with… Read more »
Im glad the chinese bought Milan.
Otherwise Berlusconi would sell Donnarumma in order to “balance the books”
And galliani would go out and say “donnarumma will 99.99% stay”
And the day after he would be sold, and we would recall agazzi, and berlusconi would talk about the importance of the FFP rules.
Thank god for the chinese
Who says that Chinese wil not sell him? I am not a fan of suracho but i think that they vill not misss oportynity to earn on him if they have a chance
Why?
Berlusconi kept milan on the edge just because his family were involved in the club. He didnt want to sell but he didnt want to invest either. Thats why he was very cheap.
The chinese havnt come to keep milan on a edge, they came here to make money, you never invest in something if you dont make money on it. Thats not an investment, thats a crazyness.
Wow! Am really impressed…. 6 Milan players? That’s awesome. Hopefully, more will get in and Milan players shall dominate national team again. Milan till no more.. Forza Milano!
If you sell somebody for 70 milions and you get him for free that’s good business, and he have Raiola for manager, vhich hiss player stays at his club to the end of careerer
I dont say that it will hapen but it’s very posible
This is a sign of good things to come for Italian national team, who says Bernadeschi is better than Bonaventura? Milanistas shouldn’t disappoint though cos u all deserve this.
