Jose Mauri reportedly close to joining Empoli on loan with option to be bought next summer

Jose Mauri will leave Milan in the next days, maybe for good.

After securing a deal with Chelsea over Mario Pasalic, who will arrive on a loan with Milan receiving a first-refusal option (no buy-out), the Rossoneri have struck a deal with Empoli for Jose Mauri.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport Italia, Giovanni Martusciello’s side is close to completing the deal to bring Mauri on loan with option to buy him.

Mauri didn’t want to spend another season on the bench and space could be even more limited than last year for the 20-year-old who arrived just last summer after Parma went bankrupt.

After making a deal similar to the Marco Van Ginkel move from two years ago, Milan now seem ready to do a Riccardo Saponara-esque move by loaning the young Mauri to Empoli with option.

Facepalm ….. Feel like kicking Galliani … why not send him on a dry loan?? why do we need to send our promising players to other clubs with option to buy??? I hope there is a re-purchase clause inserted … Hope we have learnt that from Saponara experience …

Hahhahaa.. See..?
When I disagree with decision loan pasalic without option to buy. Some fans said that it would be great strategy for our future. Lol..
Also it won’t harm our youngster locatelli n Mauri.
Wake up! This is what galliani did for us.
What happened after van ginkel? Saponara?
It would happen again.

This is Galliani’s parting gift to Milan … Letting go of the youngster who would have been useful for the future …. I hope he leaves Milan at the earliest …

Galliani will never learn even though Saponara recent experience should have taught him some lesson.

Mauri will 100% become a great player, take it or leave it and Empoli are winning again on this deal.

Galliani may be making money from these deals with Empoli. Never trust a Kojac.

The Rossoneri Fans in Italyhave to show their disagree with this idea and that deal next game in the stands! We have to show our disagreement, maybe the new owners will see it and try to avoid that transfer. I mean why should loan a youngster from another team without a buyout clause and give away our own?! Are we some kind of joke?! Galliani ! He is making us all hate him…Its like he is shouting: Go ahead hate me.

Where is the Curva Sud when you need them??? Now is the time for them to stand up against kojak’s policies of loaning with option to buy …. plz contact someone from the Curva Sud to raise their voices against this stupid management …. Chelsea has an army of players which it loans to other teams but it never has option to buy … Why does our stupid management do it?? Has Galliani not learned from Saponara, Cristante episodes???

I don’t agree with our management, why? What kind of bargains do we always do on behalf of our young talents? Aubameyang, Darmian, Cristante, Sarponara, El Shaarawy and now Mauri? I am speechless

lol this sh*t can not be made up. The king of football, to the joke of all. SES, Sapanora and now Mauri, seriousley how many times do you need to see the youngster that we let go for free-peanuts, go on to being great players. Even in a business sense, it makes no sense. SES could easly be sold today 25$, but instead it was $13m This guy will end up being great, trust me. Maybe not next season or the the year after, but sometime down the line. Just like man utd looked like fools over Pogba, we would… Read more »

While I’m not as high on Mauri as some here; I do agree it sets a bad precedent to loan our young players with an option to buy. We should be returning to dry loans only for our younger talent.

If im not mistaken, we insert the clause counter buy back, same as hahim mastour to malaga. So if next year empoli decides to activate buyout clause on mauri, we can buy him back again if we want to. If this clause truly inserted, i take that as a win tho

I highly doubt any such option is inserted in that deal. This man makes himself look like a joke with Alzheimer’s forgetting what happened in previous loans he has done with youngsters..smh

If this deal does not have any counter-option, then I will really lose all hope in Galliani. He should take some lessons from Marotta. He has made so many different great deals in recent years. I think he’s been the best in his job maybe in Europe even.

I don’t have a problem with option to buy as it encourages more and better teams to sign our young players and play them, but always insert a counter-option or something in there.

Damn, Marotta even inserted a clause for signing Bentacour at a fixed price for the next three years when he was selling Tevez! Now that’s great job from a director if you ask me.

Empoli will be a great move for him, or Bologna would be good as well. He will definitely improve there.
As long as we will get him back, it’s fine. Sometimes a buy-out option needs to be inserted in the contract so the team will agree to it. He might as well refuse moving there at the end of the season. But whats done is done, I hope he develops as he has a lot of potential, and comes back a stronger player. I really like his tenacity.

Why on earth would he refuse moving if they are giving him more opportunities compared to Milan who will give chances to that headless chicken “Poli” or the next Pato (Read Berto)??? He will play there and then opt for the other big clubs ….

One thing is for sure as a youngster , “NEVER come to Milan on a free transfer”. Since our management have not paid a penny for you, no matter how talented u can be, be prepared to see old hogs being selected ahead of you while u warm the empty stadium of Milan. Had Milan paid 5M to get Mauri he would definitely get more starts . ( Look at milan suffering with bertolacci giving him more time on the field than he deserves ) FML

Galliani has to be the worst negotiator in world football. When Roma, Fiorentina or Udinese loan their youngsters to Empoli they dont include an option to buy, but for some unfathomable reason we do. So if Mauri proves successful, Empoli will purchase him for peanuts and if he flops we’re still stuck with him. At the same time Pasalic will return to Chelsea at the season’s end regardless of how he plays and we will again be left with nothing, especially if Mauri impresses at Empoli and moves there permanently. Milan’s transfer policy over the last few years seems to… Read more »

Okay, here’s my comment: While the optics of this deal seems horrible, the truth of the matter is, Mauri is an excess to the team, and better get rid of him than Locatelli and Zanellato (Milan Youth Products). My opinion, I think Mauri is expendable. He played well for Parma…remember that. I trust Montella, so if he doesn’t need him, then there is a reason for the loan move. I would honestly have Baselli on the team, look at what he did in the Torino match once he came in. Is Mauri on the same level as him. Also, is… Read more »

Very sorry to say this but i seriously question the intelligence of those who keep saying if x was good enough he’d play and things in that sense. So gullit, rijkaard, darmian, aubameyang, davids, vieira werent good enough for milan? Baresi and pirlo werent good enough for inter? Henry Wasnt good enough for juve? Pogba and pique werent good enough for mu? Makalele, eto’o and dinho werent good enough for madrid? Too many times clubs, especially milan, have let potential players went away only for them to come back and bite their previous clubs in the meatiest parts of their… Read more »

No! If we are going to loan Jose Mauri to another team, then we must at least put buy-back option on that deal, because otherwise we are in danger of losing him for a nearly nothing, just look at the Saponara”s case! We had Tassotti in place for preventing thies things from happening, but now Tassotti is gone, so does that mean that we are losing our condrol of handling our young prospects who will become in the future and Jose Mauri is a crusial part of our teams future and if we are going to loan him to other… Read more »

I see a lot of people who know nothing about football here. Stop thinking this is FIFA16. Let Montella Coach and let the organization manage. Things are changing at Milan, and for the better. There was a recent report that the young core talent of Milan, Donarumma, Bona, Niang, Suso, and ROmagnoli were worth about E155 Million (euro). Here’s a question: if Berlusconi was really in charge, do you think we would have kept any of them? He would have see $$$ signs, sold them all, bring back Mexes, and sign another crappy midfielder. After we all lament, he would… Read more »

We seem to have strange desires that even we don’t understand. We want to inject cash and buy quality and yet we think the youth will not suffer for this? We keep crying sign this, sign that, at whose expense if I may ask? Some of us last Sunday were saying Suso is not playing up to Milan standard cos we seem to have forgotten his age? We say give the youth a chance and then we want them to become super stars instantly that can produce winning performances without room for mistakes and development? The problem is that we… Read more »
