Gustavo Gomez says ‘being at Milan is unique’ as he prepares for his debut in front of Napoli’s ‘South American fans.’
Vincenzo Montella lost Gabriel Paletta to suspension on the season opener against Torino and he is widely expected to play new signing Gustavo Gomez from the start on Saturday, when Milan visit Napoli.
Gomez, 23, arrived from Argentina champions Lanus, and his debut for the Rossoneri will be against the attack of Napoli, which is still impressive despite being Higuain-less.
“I’m happy to be here and even though I didn’t know the city or the teammates, I find things to be really good,” the Paraguay international told MilanTV. “Being here is something unique and it’s very nice. I feel good and I’m adapting to the club, to the teammates, to the country and the city.
“I’m trying to do what the coach asks of me and then put it into practice during the game. The difference between the Argentine and Italian leagues? Serie A is a bit more dynamic and technical than the Argentine league. I’m training to adapt as soon as possible and be available to the coach.
“The popularity of Milan in Argentina? Italian football is followed a lot in South America. I know the club and its history and the titles that Milan have won and I’m here to live it. Milan were well known to us, especially in Paraguay since Cesare Maldini was the coach of the national team.

“The next game? I’m ready for Napoli. I’ve bene told that they have fans very similar to the South American. If I’ll be tense, it’s because I’ll try to make the most of this opportunity. As everyone knows, the fans in South America are extreme, shouting the whole game and I’m already used to it. The first time at San Siro? It was something unique, the stadium and the incredible people.
“The dressing room? When I arrived I was very much with the South American players, but the teammates welcomed be very well, also the Italians. The group is great, it’s united and that matters a lot. Romagnoli [who will stay at Milan and play alongside Gomez on Saturday]? He’s a great player, he has great potential. We’re getting to know each other during training and I think we’ll go very well together. Bacca? I prefer to have him as a teammate than an opponent; he’s very difficult to mark.
“My objectives with Milan? I want to earn my place in the team, to play, to fight on the pitch. And my dream is to win many titles with Milan.” Gomez will look to start with a win over Sarri’s boys.

Good luck. Let’s get back to the top

What’s with all the religious vibes?
PS: I believe God exists too, but I don’t see the need for involving Him in “football comments”.
I pray you reach ur potentials with milan just like thiago silva and then can I call you a success and a winner….let’s get started with Napoli first. And also a lasting partnership with Alessio
Comment: – I see Milan winning this game
Why are Milan announcing the reject of Chelsea’s offer for romagnoli as if it’s a kind of a big deal? And to talk of Milan claiming the offer is a mega offer is embarrassing to our player. When British players go for more than what Chelsea are paying for romagnoli. Stones is almost 50mil, sterling almost 60mil etc. All I know is it shouldn’t be a big deal showing the world you rejected a meagre 40mil for your long term investment.
don’t over hype him guys, just shut up and wait to see what he’ll offer to us this weekend!
Jah bless milan. Now if u’ll excuse me imma catch a fire if u know what i mean
May Odin give us strength!
Agree for abbey. Just a lil to sensitive to made a comment and bring ur religion. Lets enjoy football with d same “religion”.
Its called AC MILAN
Gomez, an interisting player and hopefully will take us reach d sky again. Wish him will playing with his heart for Rossonero.
Ps:please, dont judge my english. I’m Indonesian. And I know a lot that my english is bad. At least u all will get d point… :)
If we bet Napoli wewill be filled with confident. The similar confident which leicester had last season. This win will be great for us. On other hand Napoli have the weekest attack as compared there past few seasons when they had cavani and then higuain. And we have the best attack since past few seasons.
Comment:I have a good feeling about this player maybe he will turn up like Kucka afterall
We need this win to vim our players selves confidence
We all hope that Gustavo Gomez is as good player that we need to upgrade our teams central defense, which is very important thing for us, because we are in badly need to find a partner for Romagnoli in our teams central defense!
Milan will win, Gómez lets start the game
I trust he’ll feet in but then he has to work hard… Milan 3-1 Napoli hopefully
play nice n win. forza milan
Victory to Milan… Forza Milano!
