Mateo Kovacic’s name can be crossed off Milan’s list as Perez told Galliani that the player is not available on loan.
Milan will sign a midfielder by the end of the summer but their very limited resources are making it rather difficult for them to get their top targets.
The Rossoneri have shown interest in Bologna’s Amadou Diawara (there are conflicting reports over whether they made an official offer) and are reportedly also considering Roma’s Leandro Paredes and Manchester City’s Fernando. But it’ll be very hard for Milan to get these players as they can only offer loan deals with option to buy – offers that clubs tend to reject for players of such value, as evidenced today.
According to Sky Italia’s Luca Marchetti, Adriano Galliani phoned Florentino Perez today to see if the 2015/16 Champions League winners are willing to let Mateo Kovacic join Milan on loan with option. Despite the great relationship between Galliani and Perez, the Real President said ‘no’.
At the moment Real Madrid have no intention of letting Kovacic in these conditions. Milan will have to pay cash now for their top targets but that seems impossible; so they might have to compromise.

It was a long shot anyway
So if they know we have 85m coming in this September, why don’t we offer a loan with the requirement to purchase in January. This I don’t really understand.
because unlike Milan, Real Madrid management value their young players and consider keeping them than sending them away.
You mean keeping them on the bench and sending them away after being unused for 3 seasons ?
Zidane said that Kovačić could be suprise this season and he wanted him to stay…
Because they are only looking fro players who will suit our squad and they won’t know if the player will do well in our team or not. Example. Honda which has been a dud since he has arrived. Another one would be Bona which is an average player. SO they don’t want to lose money on a player who won’t mesh well with our squad or be of any use. So far loan with option to be buy is the only thing we can offer. I’m sure when the Winter Transfer window opens we’ll be buying better players who are… Read more »
we’re basically screwed until winter..
I don’t just know why Milan ain’t spending like other clubs in Europe, I just hope we qualify for champions league or Europa league because we are behind in winning the scudetto
Yeah, sure, go spend as much as other clubs with that 7,5mil we have left
Comment:they they said they don’t even want to sell at least it was a good try
Inter juve all do these deals loans option or obligations to buy when Milan do it’s a disaster get out galliani n I mean now can’t stand this mess up anymore
Juve r getting cuadrado loan n offer to buy after the season… Milan can’t even start talking to Chelsea hmmmm interesting we got Sosa I’m glad we got someone other than montolivo cause seriously bonera can play better than him in midfield
We cant even get Cuadrado now. We used our last EU spot on Sosa. Even worse. LOL
you cant compare sosa with monty, the have different characteristic and position..sosa never replace monty.
Spartan I totally agree with u….i am beginning to wonder if they are all against us.. Truth is they don’t like us…..do u know….torino just signed “CASTAN” from ROMA….on LOAN??????? Can u imagine….if we had gone for him….his price will be steep and they won’t loan….they will put him up for 20m!…mehnnnn .. I particularly sighted this example cuz it’s a similar scenario to what is happening now…..because we asked for Bentancur that juve can buy for 9m…..they increased his price to 15m… Mussacchio is worth like 12-14m on a good day…now because we need him and made enquiries they… Read more »
Of course if Milan ask for Roma’s good prospect players, they will lift up the price as other Milan rivals in Serie A will do and as Milan will do too to their rivals. Milan, despite current situation, is still a big club. Unlike Torino, they might think it’s a good place for their players to get more experience. But Milan? I don’t think they will let their rivals be stronger especially with low cost. As for Madrid, I don’t know if they need the money. I don’t think they do. But they are known as a club who value… Read more »
the revenge will be to invest wisely, get players who’ll increase in value with each passing match. when those who rejected us now come to us we just show them the door and sell to their rivals…this is not evil…just reciprocity…
in other news According to Gazzetta, Real Madrid has denied a Kovacic loan offer from Milan. Milan will try again in these couple of days. #mercato

It’s obvious isn’t it! Other clubs don’t like giving us players…AND THAT is why we have Genoa! ahaa
no but seriously though, it’s sad that we can’t get players now, but i do hope that we can land in another midfielder before this mercato ends. We have been linked to ManCITY for Fernando and Liverpool for Markovic but i’d rather Diawara from Bologna or El Ghazi from Ajax simply because they are young.
don’t mind them they are afraid of Milan coming back to position cos that’s where we belong

Florentino Perez has reportedly signed off on Mateo Kovacic leaving Real Madrid for Milan and the arrangement could be similar to Alvaro Morata’s. AS cites Corriere dello Sport in claiming Perez has given his approval to the transfer which would take Kovavic back to San Siro, having moved to Santiago Bernabeu from Inter a year ago.It would be a loan deal costing the Serie A club nothing, the report claims, though the Gazzetta dello Sport says Milan will by the Croatia international with Los Blancos holding the right of repurchase as they did when Morata went to Juventus. Perez and… Read more »
Well, Fernando is a no-no. But I like to see the names of Kovacic, Diawara and Paredes as the alternatives.
If anyone of them would join us, I would actually be quite content with this mercato… I think I would mainly prefer Diawara, then Paredes, and then Kovacic. Just a quality CB missing…
So much called ‘great relationship’
The management should listen to Montella’s choice of players not their own judgement or interest. In the end, its his responsibility to create his own team based on individual that whom he thinks play up to coach’s standard of play.
Therefore, its a long way to go before we return to top flight football in Domestic Campaign.
Hopefully Montella can defies the odds this coming season.
Fingers cross
Milan just de crak brain every day she hmmmmm.
There is no use of mourning over this deal. I was not in favour of this transfer anyway. I mean i like kovacic but with a buyback clause like morata, it would habe hampered our long term plans. You all know what happened in case of morata. They invested their time & resources in getting the best out of him but after two years, when he l at the top of his game, real madrid come out of nowhere & take him back. On paper, juve might have made profit of 10m € but does it include the work & time spent… Read more »
aggazzi …… Antonioni….Bonera…..Vergera….Mesbah ..Constant….Poli…..Muntari…Essien…Bertolacci…Matri…
best Milan team of all time..if you know what i mean
bahaha..boneror is a simply never ending joke
That team needs a captain, and who better than Montolivo – the sorriest excuse for a Milan skipper in all of AC Milan’s over 100 years of existence as a football club. So please remove Antonini from the list – at least he played with heart, and when Milan wanted him to go away to Genoa, he went easily and did not refuse like some petulant bunch, i.e. Zaccardo, etc.
and Brocchi the coach
Comment: muntari is far better than montoslowvio….at least he can score from long ranges
I dont know why but i see sexual context in your comment mate

A proposed move to AC Milan for Boca Juniors midfielder Rodrigo Bentacur has fallen through due to the club’s Chinese owners refusing to sanction the deal. Although they have already signed Jose Sosa from Besiktas this summer, the Rossoneri are keen to bring in another midfielder for Vincenzo Montella. GWG predictor They are now being forced to consider options such as Leandro Paredes of Roma and Real Madrid’s Mateo Kovacic, after a move for Betancur fell through. A deal worth €14 million plus 20 percent of any future sale of the player was agreed between Milan and the South American… Read more »
Milan dont seem to have a choice and therefore a lack of concrete plan. They are chasing almost every player whos a midfield and clubs & players are seeing them as not too serious. Had they shown really interest in any of Kovacic/Diawara/Isco/Paredes/Zieliński/Badejl from the start making the player feel important and wanted, I’m sure one would have set his heart on Milan by now and even try to convince his club in accepting a loan move. But not when your putting them on hold for few weeks discussing with other players then back again trying. Its like chasing a… Read more »
Hmm… might be true, but we wanted Badelj, and Badelj wanted us as well, his agent was clear and went out in public and said it, it was Fiorentina who refused to sell. So that logic isnt really bulletproof, but I do see your point though..
That’s true for Badelj but it took us several empty approaches (and approaching some other targets in between) before making a serious offer.
I liked how we approach Bentancur showing the player he’s well needed and making a real offer, if still rejected then at least you have tried all you could and can then forget about that one completely or at least for this market and move on to the alternative.
This is milans biggest problem. Every other team, especially in the BPL the managers ask for players they want and the club caters to what they ask for and sign them. In milans case, Galliani goes around and gets players or alternatives to fill the squad and our coaches have to make due with them. For example, montella asked for cuadrado and badelj when he came as priority signings. With those two and a cb I would have been satisfied and those are two reasonable players to get. Instead we make inquirys about them to get them for cheap or… Read more »
Now Bacca is staying and Milan has Bacca, Adriano, Niang (can play wing) and Lapadula for one spot, where in midfield we are suffering the most. Instead of useless splash on Lapadula they could offer whole sum of 15 millions for Diawara in this case. Still no planing!
yes we can be patient if at least there is a clear plan..but i think this mercato activity just brought us nowhere..there is no clear plan..
I laughed when i read comments like “Other clubs don’t like us, They don’t want to deal with us” blah blah blah. I’ve said it and i will repeat it. The problem is not Milan but nobody wants to deal with Galliani again., his dirty tricks don’t work anymore and it seems some of you haven’t realised that. Diawara is reportedly going to Napoli for EUR2M loan and obligatory option to buy for EUR11M as opposed to yesterday’s rumour that he’s going to Napoli for EUR17M plus bonus. Galliani gave his agent an offer of EUR3M and option to buy… Read more »
There are so much young players we can start buying from January… Luan, Rafael (Portuguese left back), Marquinhos, Issa Diop, Tah, Tielemans, Bazoer, Dembele, Danilo Barbosa, Thiago Maia, Rodrigo Caio, Herrera, Bernardeschi, Lindelof, Berardi.
We just need to get rid of Galliani and find someone who can start a new, fresh project with chinese investments.
I realy hope montella is gonna give Some playing time to his young players Because Milan isn’t buying the players they need the most and they realy need to get rid of montelivio he’s realy over the top he’s washed up already.. I belief locatelli could replace HIM already. And Sorry to break iT to you Guys but only a fool wouln’t notice That Milan isn’t going to buy players like isco’ cuadrado’ bentacur’paredes’diawara’sissoko’..etc etc because 3 main reasons 1: we don’t have the money 2: players don’t want to join 3: because Many clubs don’t trust us anymore because… Read more »
We as ac Milan are basickly in this on going nightmare where we are in is going to be a really bad season a head of us and that is why our next season will be a really big bust! Our new Chinese owners don”t have that money that was promised to us when our teams sale has gone true, but we are still whitout any major money to upgrade our team towards next season!
