Jose Sosa has passed the medical check-ups and signed the contract with the red and black club.

The 31-year-old Argentine midfielder / winger landed in Milano last night after Milan agreed a €7.5 million deal with Besiktas and today he was at the La Madonnina clinic for the medical and at Casa Milan to sign the contract.

“Milan was looking for an experienced, professional player for the midfield with the will to do well. The club has found in you these three components and has decided to sign a contract with you until 30th June 2018. Best of luck with us, José!” a statement reads on acmilan.com.

Sosa, who previously played for Bayern Munich and Napoli, is joining Milan after an excellent season with Besiktas, winning the Turkish Super Lig Player of the Season Award thanks to his 7 goals and 12 assists in 31 league appearances. He’ll be tied at Milan with the #23 jersey for 2 years.

“I’m very happy,” Sosa told journalists outside of Casa Milan. “My role? I hope to play and now I have to train. About the role I’ll have to talk to the coach. I want to bring my experience and bring here is a dream but also a very big responsibility. I have come to give my best.”

Jose will now return to Turkey to sort out some paperwork regarding his visa. He’ll most likely have his first training session on Friday and could make his debut Milan match against Torino on Sunday.

There’s no going back. Welcome Sosa!
Hope the best part of your career is still ahead n that you’ll enjoy it with us.

I-Milan

Welcome Sosa and good luck with the number 23 shirt. Ambrosini wore it well and led the Rossoneri as the last Milan captain. Since he left, Milan has not found a leader because although certain Montolivo has the skipper’s armband strapped on, he has proven unfit to be a true leader worthy of Milan class. You won’t get the armband, but you can show leadership qualities just like a famous Milan number 8, Gennaro Gattuso. Good luck and welcome back to Serie A! Forza Milan!

Tanzil Arifin

Ambrosini isn’t a leader… i prefer Gattuso to be Milan Captain on that time…

henriano

Welcome SOSA!

Despite the criticisms, milan will be better with sosa’s arrival than without it, considering present circumstances. An addition of another defensive minded player like Diawara will be the icing in the cake.If we can get Caceres or mangala (worst case scenario), then our defense is good to go. I am highly expectant of Gomes and has the conviction that he will form an impeccable pair with Romagnoli; and that Paleta will be a handy alterntve.Generally this crop of players will keep us comfortable around top five until January when we will make additions that will help us reach to three.

Milanista121

If it would happen that we sign Diawarra and Caceres, it would actually be a real positive mercato. Out with a lot of deadweight and in with players that we need. Caceres, when fit, is a really good option.

Welcome Sosa. FORZA MILAN!!!

Welcome Jose. I wish you best of luck in Milan. Because your luck means our luck!!! Forza Milan!!!

Jibola

He’s definitely a step up to the midfield full of average quality players. Welcome Sosa.

Gomez will be da new borja Valero just like when montella brought him from da Spanish league. I think he will offer us a lot offensively n creatively.

m.a.usa

He was last year’s top assister in the super lig and won the league with Besiktas.

I think he’s a good addition and will choose him anyday over Poli, Bertolacci and Montolivo

Welcome to the great club of milan
Wish u d very best of luck wt d rossoneri….SOSAMILAN

Pelle80

Montella brought old valero to fiorentina and we all know how he plays till date,i believe there is what he sees in this guy that makes him to be on his top list.

For those of you condenming this buy, this guy won player of the year in turkey where they play beautiful football, he wanted milan and pushed his club , he won the turkish super league last season, he is a champion! 1million times better than berto+monty+poli. Welcome to the red and black sosa.

Welcome Sosa, Surprise us like KUCKA :-)

Milanellofm

Welcome Sosa! I hope you have a great season along with milan. Not the player I was hoping for but you have my full support and I hope everything goes well. Now reading reports that we have intensified talks with diawara of bologna. Please let this happen! This kid has great talent he reminds me of pogba. Definitely one for the future. Then I’ll be satisfied for the time being with the mid. Get either mangala or caceras on loan for the cb and I think we can do well this season. Can only build on last year. We haven’t… Read more »

Your defence without Antonelli is a no no.

Welcome Jose…

With Kucka, Suso and Bonaventura, his coming into the midfield will be great for us.

Well the sort of competition we are getting from other teams for the signature of Diawara scares me guys. i hope Galliani can use his influence( if he still has any left) to get this guy for as with the right proposal and stop his stingy proposals. we have experience in Sosa so Diawara’s addition would be great for our MF. We have Donadoni there who is A Rossoneri himself, plus we in the past helped them with players before and we can give them a player plus cash in return.

Forza Milan

Dwayne Kanas

And we can even give them Poli in return for all i care!

Sheenor

This guy will definitely bring vast of experience to Milan… Welcome on board Sosa!

Rossonero 23

Sosa is better than Montolivo, Poli and Bertolucci, so he is welcome addition. Diawara… No chance. He will be picked by Napoli or Roma. Galliani can do nothing here (and if he could, he probably wound not know how). We will probably pick another midfielder but there is not much offered on the market… For winter transfer window I propose: – talented Brazilians (they can stay in Brasil till Summer 2017) like Thiago Maia or Luan – top quality young defender: someone like Marquinhos or Laporte – talented defender: Tah (from Bayer) or Issa Diop – 2 Midfielders – choose… Read more »

Milan’s Transfer-in so far:
1. Vangioni;29 (Argentina/River Plate)
2. Lapadula;26 (Italy(Peru)/Pescara)
3. Gustavo Gomez; 23 (Paraguay/Lanus)
4. Jose Sosa; 31 (Argentina/Besiktas)
Well went south (America)!! lol
but good ages in my opinion…

Dwayne Kanas

Welcome to Milan Sosa! i can’t wait to see what you can do on the pitch against Torino this weekend, or Napoli next weekend!

Mofe

Welcome Sosa!!! Am so glad to have Principo(Sosa), Gomez, El Ghazi and Almighty Lapadula. I guess we should try 4-4-2 formation with those team someday the combination of Double striker Carlos Bacca and G. Lapadula just like Shevchenko and Fippo Inzaghi back then.

Milan10

You spelled gullit – van basten wrong mate

Clark Kent

Good experience and technical ability as a midfielder, overall solid signing. Still pissed at jube and boca about Bentancur tho, screw them both! Forza Milan!

Milan10

Anyone comparing him to CM like berto, monto, poli etc clearly hasnt done his research, probably hasnt even seen him play. Sosa is am/rm/rw, and a very good one. If montella really wants to play with 4-3-3 then good ball-spreading am/rm like him is a very good addition. I, for one, welcome him to milan and hope he’ll be one who’s so missed last season, A competent playmaker

JaRossoneri

Sosa is not Kocacic, and certainly not Isco, he might not even be Suso, but offloading two deadweight strikers in Menez and Matri while adding an actual ACM is a small step in the right direction…. As of today, our 6 best non defenders are Bacca, Niang, Suso, Jack, Sosa, and Kucka…with Adriano, Locatelli, and Mauri being useful subs… Our 4 most reliable defenders are Antonelli, Romagnoli, Gomez, and Abate….with Calabria and MDS pushing to earn a starting spot… So while I want some big signings, Im more worried about dead weight like Monti, Honda, Poli, even Paletta, taking playing… Read more »

Too many of u here in this blog have gotten used to the loser mentality since you approve this… This signing is a big joke i know we are on a limited budget but when that is the case then they need to make every $ count and this signing wont change ANYTHING Milan will still end up in 8th-10th place this season

xtfui

I will explain for those who think that the age doesn’t matter, yes it doesn’t matter when player is physically, mentally, technically strong when a player can control the ball, the game with his vision and passes like Pirlo, ZIdane, or Zlatan and many others, but when it comes to the speed the age matters, even ronaldo and messi aren’t what they used to be 2-3 years ago, Ronaldinho lost even his technique after 30, so age matters, because i don’t think we should be comparing Sosa to one of these players i mentioned, in any aspect. I really think… Read more »

I think we need a center back….what if Roma is inj or gomez….are we going to fall back to zapata???….i don’t trust palletta he is slow….I think galliani should look for a way to send veghara away and bring us a good substitute for the bench…..and Kovacic will be a good addition,i am not sure about markovic that we are liked to…..honestly we can’t get diawara, bologna is not a dumb club they will sell to Napoli or schalke cuz they need cash not loan…..elgazi is another mastour…..honestly I don’t trust niang, I even see adriano doing very better than him… Read more »
