Gianluigi Donnarumma could sign a new contract soon but the Rossoneri’s 2nd choice goalkeeper is on the way out.
Donnarumma was the best surprise in Serie A last season as he became Milan’s first choice goalkeeper, putting Lopez on the bench with his great performances while only being 16 years of age.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, yesterday there was contact between Adriano Galliani and Gigio’s agent Mino Raiola to kickoff the discussion about the player’s contract renewal. The Rossoneri have no intention of partying ways with Donnarumma and are looking to tie him to a long-term deal.
Donnarumma stays but Lopez goes; Di Marzio claims that the Spanish goalkeeper will sign for Antonio Conte’s Chelsea once Asmir Begović is sold by the Blues. The former Real Madrid shot-stopper will sign a three-year contract with the Premier League side.
With Lopez leaving and Christian Abbiati retiring, Milan find themselves in need for two more goalkeepers for next season’s squad. Gabriel is returning from loan at Napoli but is wanted by Torino.
