Milan linked with Zielinski and Montella’s former players Ljajic, Mati Fernandez and Fernando

Vincenzo Montella has a list of targets in his heads and they mainly include his former players from Sampdoria and Fiorentina, at least according to the press.

Milan appointed Montella on Tuesday night and the new coach, who will begin the preparations for the season next Thursday at Milanello, is looking to strengthen the squad of the Rossoneri.

Montella will reportedly use 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1 next year and he’s looking to add new faces to the midfield and attack.

Sky’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Milan have joined Napoli and Liverpool in the race for Poland international Piotr Zieliński (pictured). Di Marzio claims that Montella has always been a fan of the 22-year-old midfielder, who is owned by Udinese but played under Marco Giampaolo at Empoli last season. There are no talks between the sides at the moment but he seems to be of interest.

Di Marzio also links the Rossoneri to a host of players with whom Montella had worked in the past. Fernando Lucas Martins of Sampdoria as well as Roma-owned Adem Ljajic & Fiorentina’s Matias Fernandez are all said to be on Montella’s mind as he looks to build his Milan side.

Montella coached the 30-year-old Mati Fernandez and the 24-year-old Ljajic at Fiorentina. Mati, who is ‘just an idea’ for the moment, made 27 appearances for Fiorentina last season while Ljajic spent the last season on loan at Inter, scoring 4 goals in 28 matches. He’s also wanted by Miha’s Torino. Fernando meanwhile played with Montella at Samp last year; he was close to signing with Spartak Moscow, but the deal has not yet been reached and Vincenzo could bring the 24-year-old.

Di Marzio claims that there are no concrete negotiations with any of these names as of now but this could change in the future. Adriano Galliani, Montella and the Chinese will soon work on the mercato.

Aaaand 65m for Lukaku? Lol I knew that was just bs rumor…

But Zieliński would be great investment…

And I have read somewhere that Vasquez deal is secured… That would be awesome…

I’m glad that Montella wants midfielders, that he sees that our midfield is really bad… If there is any luck, he will buy creative central mid to replace Monty…

Fingers crossed!!

We need someone like Leandro Paredes to replace Montolivo. He’s a cheaper option and very good.

I think he will give chance to Montolivo given that he worked with him before. Mr. Montella have to be smarter then previous coaches and respect our youngsters. Give chance to Calabria,Locatelli and if we get him back,to Mastour!

I don’t want Mati, he’s old and we could get younger players. Zielinski would be one for the future. Fernando isn’t exActly a household name but he has the ability to pick out players with exquisite passes and long balls. So that could be a good addition too. Ljajic flourished under montella in fiorentina so if we get him, I think it would be a bargain.

Now we need Pjaca and a solid CB. And imo, we should sell bacca and keep niang. Bacca is entering his 30s so. Gradually he’ll fade out. Whereas Niang will only improve. I hope Montella keeps him and disciplines him. He has the potential to be a world class player.

No, we need to keep Bacca, with Zieliński and Vasquez behind him he will be serie a top scorer for sure!

Niang on the other hand is good for the future but he his heading to Balotelli’s path… Its too soon to decide his future…

Read more »

In short, the deal for Vasquez is a done-deal. The amount of money that we will pay for him is not verified yet, but this clearly says Zamparini accepted the “offer”. Where did you find this?

I don’t know the above players but i hope they are solutions to our areas of need.I have watched clips of Vazquez and Pjaca, i cant imagine having both and Bonaventura in the same team,we will be spoilt for creativity. With Bacca and Lapadula the goals will be guaranteed.I have not heard that we are linked to any centre back,i hope this is not an over sight,i just hope the parties concerned are working something out.

From the rumours, it appears that we are going to do some clueless business. From the players we are linked with, only pjaca & zeilinski seem to be welcome additions. What is the point in getting mati fernandez while we already have montolivo. Why go for ljajic since we already have suso. Paying even 15m € for vasquez looks like dumb deal as we can get saponara for nearly 12m € (who is a better & young trequartista in my view).I also heard that we are going to use zapata as a starting cb next season!!!! We have got 100m… Read more »

If B&G want my forgiveness, let them line up our first team next season in this manner:
(GK) DONNARUMMA
(RB) ABATE/MDS (RCB) BENATIA/MAKSIMOVIC (LCB) ROMAGNOLI (LB) ANTONELLI/VANGIONI

(CM) WITSEL/ (CLM) MONTOLIVO/ PARADESE

(RW) PJACA/HONDA (PM) VAZQUEZ/SAPONARA (LW) BONAVENTURA/NIANG

(CS) BACCA/LAPADULA

This is according to the new coach preferred formation of 4-2-3-1. We should also have a rich bench that can change a game in its difficult moment…..

For past 10 years milan has had (bad) habit of targeting one good player but end up getting another (rather crappier) one, especially right after new coach appointment. So until theres black ink on white contract paper, i think its unwise to say anything regarding transfers
Still, all milanisti finally has right to be a little more optimistic now, all things considered

I dont understand why so many want Witsel he is nothing special at all and he is not a playmaker he is a box to box midfielder… Milan should go after Lucas Biglia or just a creative player

filipo

Sincerely Milan needs a decent centre back to pair Rogmanoli and some creativity in the midfield is also necessary. Milan shld do away with Menez, Matri and would want Bertolacci loaned for half a season and give him a shot by mid season if he does well. He certainly was overpriced. Bacca needs to stay @ least he is a proven goal scorer and if Lapuduli performs we may then sell Bacca next season. Milan needs to get bak to europe….My heart bleeds when Milan was trashed by very average Serie A teams.

Allegri -> Matri (even wanted to bring andrea lazzari)
Seedorf -> Essien
Inzaghi -> Cerci
Miha -> bunch of balkan players
Montella -> Ljajic

Hey, why can’t we sell Montolivo now?? I mean we did sell Thiago Silva after renewing with him so it will not be something new. After that we can look for Paredes or Badelj or anyone.
If Lazio loses Biglia, they may be willing to sign. Or give him to Miha at Torino. Or even Inter who needs Italian players to meet new Serie A regulations.
Montella likes technical players than the gritty guys of Miha. So I fear we may sell Kucka.

Comment: IMO Kucka is the only player in milan with Roma’s likeness.jux needs to work on his technique.. such a player is needed in a team to break up opposition’s play.

The Milan I hope for next season :

—— Donnarumma—–
Mds–Benatia–Romagnoli–Antonelli
—–Kucka—Zielinski—–
Pjaca—-Vasquez—-Bonaventura
———-Bacca—–

4-2-3-1.. trust me ..this lineup will slay even seria A giant : Juventus

Personally, the 4231 is my favorite formation, but its not a good idea to play Bacca up front by himself…Bacca is a “goal poacher” not a “target man”…

Ibra, Costa, Lukaku, big forwards who can win aerial duels and hold up play, these are the prototypical forwards for a 4231…

Bacca is not great in the air or on the ball, but he is often great with another forward next to him taking attention away from the defense and allowing him to make quick runs towards/within the 18.
