Keisuke Honda returned from international duty with a minor injury and is unavailable for tomorrow against Atalanta and so Mattia De Sciglio is expected to start in an unfamiliar role.
‘Model professional’ Honda is out of the squad for tomorrow’s match against Atalanta (Sunday, 15:00 CET kickoff). And so Mihajlovic is forced to find different solutions in midfield as the Japanese, who picked up a foot injury during the latest international break, is a starting XI player.
Mihajlovic has Andrea Poli and Kevin-Prince Boateng who can play on the wing but according to reports across Italy (Milannews.it, Gazzetta, Sky and others), Mattia De Sciglio is preferred over everyone else in this role and will play with Montolivo, Bertolacci and Bonaventura in midfield.
Alex is also unavailable so Cristian Zapata will play alongside Alessio Romagnoli. Luiz Adriano once again is preferred over Mario Balotelli and Jeremy Menez and will play alongside Carlos Bacca.
