Paolo Berlusconi says Milan have a few options in China that will allow the Rossoneri to invest in the future.
Paolo, the publisher of the newspaper Il Giornale and a Milan honorary Vice President, spoke to the MC this week as 30 years ago today (20th of February 1986), his brother Silvio bought Milan.
“The 30th anniversary of Silvio buying Milan? I will thank Silvio because this occurrence falls in between some dates that have been marked in our family because we’ve lost our father, our mother and our sister in February,” he said.
“This anniversary also remains us that without our parents there would be no Silvio and Milan wouldn’t have won everything that they have. Silvio’s story with Milan is like adopting a baby. You love him even before seeing him, but when you raise him then you both become one entity. The story of Silvio is the story of Milan and vice-versa. While respecting and knowing that the origins of Milan go way back [the club was founded in 1889 of course], today if you talk about Milan abroad they all connect it to Berlusconi.
“New investors? Silvio’s empire was based above all on television and with the crisis in that sector it’s natural Milan suffered too. This could’ve caused him to sell the club without worrying too much about what would become of Milan. Instead, he wants to grow Milan and take the side back to the levels where it belongs, to find new partners who not only bring in fresh capital, but also help the club grow.
“The Chinese market is, for us, the ideal solution. Without getting into details, there are several options in the Chinese market that are aimed at allowing us to invest a great deal of money.”
