Lazio are in need for strikers and have identified Alessandro Matri as their guy to replace the injured Klose.
Lazio beat Bayer Leverkusen 1-0 yesterday in the Champions League play-off round but lost Miroslav Klose to a ‘serious’ muscular injury and with Filip Djordjevic also out injured, coach Stefano Pioli wants the club to sign a striker.
According to Sky Italia, Lazio are interested in signing Milan striker Alessandro Matri who is obviously primed for a bench role this season. Matri joined Milan from Juventus in 2013 for €11-12 million (paid in installments) but never really convinced anyone and has been sent on loan three times since.
However, the same Sky reports that at the moment coach Sinisa Mihajlovic doesn’t want to let go of Matri and has vetoed the move. It’d be logical to assume this will change if Ibrahimovic comes.

Miha will obviously not let him play and he knows this but i expect he would push for an exit as the transfer windows draws to a close because he wouldn’t want to suffer a whole season. Miha is only being cautious of numbers but not quality as letting him go now will leave his attacking options reduced without a replacement. I’m sure IF Zlatan comes he would let him go else he would be on d bench.
This is the moment Berlusconi will push to get Zlatan as i said before the only reason Matri is still in the squad is because Niang is injured. or they could just put Mexes as a back up striker since he seems better attacking than defending lol
I think we will get Pjaca or Zlatan (or another one, but surely will be an arrival). Then, it’s pointless to keep Matri. With Bacca, Luiz Adriano, Niang, Menez and Cerci + one of them in front we’ll be well covered in a season where is no UCL or EL.
I can’t believe that we want to keep Alessandro, maybe the management want to fix a better prize. Even keeping Nocerino or Alex would make more sense.
