Robinho will be a free player once his loan at Santos ends, his lawyer confirmed on Tuesday.

Robinho has been at Santos since the summer and it was obvious to all that he wouldn’t return to Milan.

The Brazilian club is keen to keep him and it was reported over the last few days that they are set to negotiate with the Rossoneri and are even willing to include their young star Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa in the deal but it seems that things have taken an unexpected turn.

“He will be free from July 1,” Robinho’s lawyer Marisa Alija Ramos revealed today. “He has already signed the documents to rescind his contract. Now we’ll think calmly about his future, he already has some offers.” Ramos also suggested that the termination is a solution “good for all the parties.”

Robinho joined Milan in 2011 and won the Scudetto in his first season under coach Massimiliano Allegri. He scored 32 goals in 144 appearances in red and black.

Shame. I always loved Robinho. Im upset we couldnt get anything for him. Saving on his wages is definitely a good thing

disguised_fellow

Was Robinho worse than Pazzini?

PatPete

Yes because he cost us 16m to buy and 4.5m per year wages

m.a.usa

Not really. In his first season he was like Co-top scorer.
He also was fantastic against Arsenal I think in 2011 or 2012?
Despite everything he scored many goals especially in his first two seasons

PatPete

Still his first season doesn’t justify the price we payed for him and the successive years of him eating up our wage bill. Also i tend to think that he may have been another player who benefited from ibra’s hold up play in his first season.

MY MILAN111

HE SHOULD LEAVE

Chris

Please sign that gabigol guy. I believe he is worth the gamble

Cuore Rosso

Bye bye!

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out!

Why on earth didn’t they go for Gabigol deal?! We are in desperate need of a good young talented striker! Look at Vietto, Dybala and co., smaller clubs took a gamble (or not considering our scouts are useless) and now big guns are offering tens of millions for them. Someone like Porto, Benfica, Sevilla will get their hands on him and sell him high in future! Useless management! Reports suggest Santos is in for Alex too so maybe they will work something out for Gabriel Barbosa being included in deal. I really hope so with Pazzini and Destro being average… Read more »

Who says there is no option for him? The last words Galliano said was “we’ll see” which can mean anything. Really, anything.

We just paid 40% of Binhos wages for a year and then let him go for free. I expect there is an option not just for him but for whatever other talents Santos develop the next few years…

Ted

Like when Milan had a deal with Flamengo for their young talents in Ronaldinho deal? And what has happened since then?

Yaser7

We could have sold him for 8m last year.
