Good news for Milan and Mattia Destro as he didn’t break anything and might even be fit to face Inter next Sunday.
Destro had to leave the pitch last night a couple of minutes after Milan scored the equalizer against Sampdoria following a clash with former Rossonero Djamel Mesbah and it looked quite serious for the striker who suffered from knee injuries in the past as he was helped out of the field.
There were fears that the season of Destro was over but tests today showed that it’s not as serious as initially thought.
“AC Milan communicates that Mattia Destro underwent medical and instrumental tests this morning at the Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute in Milan. He has been diagnosed with a heavy bruising to the left tibia bone and his recovery time will be evaluated based on further tests,” a statement on Milan’s site reads.
Sky Italia’s Marco Nosotti has stated that avoiding complications Destro could already return next weekend when Milan face Inter for the Derby. Mattia has scored two goals for Milan since January.
