Riccardo Montolivo will not return from injury this Sunday; the situation of Van Ginkel will be checked daily.
With Sulley Muntari asking to not be called-up again this season as he knows Milan don’t want him for the next season, space has opened up in midfield and Marco Van Ginkel has stepped in and seemed to have improved since his early season performances.
However, the Van Ginkel story unfortunately goes hand in hand with misfortunes and injuries and as reported by the Milan Channel today, the Dutchman is in doubt for the Samp match on Sunday due to an inflamed knee.
He didn’t train with the squad in today’s training session and instead did custom work in the gym. His condition will be evaluated daily to see if he can play; Andrea Poli will probably replace him if he’s unable to perform. Suso is available for the spot although he’s recently been used in attack.
Meanwhile, according to Sky Italia, captain Riccardo Montolivo is still out and won’t be back this Sunday. He could make his return in the derby in two Sunday’s from now (April 19th).
Unlucky kid!
Positive thing is, Chelsea don’t need him. They already looking for other players in that position. If he proves himself i think we can buy him on cheap.
time for suso …
maybe mastalli make his debut if we have comfortable win..
but samp now goin stronger..destro should score to get his confidence back.
menez? capocannonieri is not impossible for him..
just pray antonelli keep his good performance
Bad luck Gankel but get well soon
I really like Van Ginkel, I think if given the chance both him and Suso could have huge futures ahead of them with us, the only problem is neither of them are Italian and until Berlusconi sells I’d imagine there chances are few and far between when there’s other players available namely our compleatly useless Italian pairing of Montolivo and Poli,
Fingers crossed Montolivo is still injured for the derby
