Milan had a friendly match against Reggiana yesterday with Suso shining and scoring two beautiful goals and Menez also scoring once.

When Milan closed the deal to sign Hachim Mastour one of the terms was that they will play a friendly match with A.C. Reggiana 1919, the teenage star’s first club, and even though Hachim is injured, the match took place yesterday.

Coach Inzaghi fielded an 11 of Abbiati, Bonera, Paletta, Bocchetti, Albertazzi, Mastalli, Essien, Muntari, Suso, Pazzini and Di Molfetta with Mexes, Menez, Destro, Poli, Abate, Gamarra, Felicioli, Fabbro, Rondanini and Crociata on the bench.

4 minutes into the match, Suso showed why so many fans want to see him on the pitch as his little solo effort resulted in a great shot from just outside the box to beat Reggiana goalkeeper Messina. In the 44′ minute it was again Suso who got the ball from Di Molfetta and managed to beat the Reggiana defense to bag his second. Jeremy Menez scored the third goal in the 78′ minute.

In case you missed it or just want to see it again, you can watch the full match here.

According to this morning’s La Gazzetta dello Sport, Suso and Alessandro Mastalli were the two best players. The Spanish received praises not only for his goals but also for the fact that he “ran like crazy, entered into all the action and covered for Bonera. He had a good desire to show off.” On the Primavera midfielder GdS wrote that “the good reputation that comes with him is more than deserved. Inzaghi put him as a right midfielder and he repaid with personality.”

The worst players as per La Gazzetta were Muntari and Giampaolo Pazzini saying the Ghanaian had “a couple of tackles that were avoidable given the friendly atmosphere. But the commitment is not lacking. Pazzini meanwhile missed a good opportunity but GdS note that Destro didn’t do better.

Milan’s next match is on the 4th of April when they face Palermo at Stadio Renzo Barbera.

Suso should play behind Cerci on the right. Put De Jong/ MVG in the middle and Bonaventura/ Montolivo on the left midfield. Honda needs to be put aside without a doubt now.

It was really fun little game! Really happy to see Suso, he was very energetic and was our best player out there.

Good for Suso. And two very nice goals i must say. I just wanted to see Inzaghis stupid face when he smashed these two in the net.

@Milanista121 and here is what your dear Inzaghi had to say after the match.

“”Now is not a time to give chances to the young players” Inzaghi

The newspaper were right, Suso and Mastalli were the best, i love Mastallis commitment to our shirt and hope he gets promoted for the coming season along with Modic. Hope Baselli wont take any of their places if he arrived. Another player who impressed was Felicoli, amazing pace good technique, confident. Happy to see us produce so many fullbacks. Just the centre backs missing haha. @Hasowayne, and i agree with him to some extent, given our shape right now, Palermo away isnt the ideal environment to start playing youngsters, hopefully we can get some results and then play the likes… Read more »

Whaaaaat?? Suso’s a classy player?? Someone should’ve told Inzaghi this in January. How the hell was he supposed to know?

I said this before, inzaghi is causing his problems himself. How can you field muntari, essien, poli, honda, montolivo who are very slow and uncreative when you have talented young ball jugglers like mastali,di molfeta, suso….? Felicioli is a beast!!!!!!! Better than antonelli already imo. Start using these boys now they are far much better than what you are using, they will make the older players to sit up! I still use 19yr old schalke midfielder leroy sane as example,he played in the youth cl this yr and also featured against real m and even scored a super goal,he is of the same age group as mastalli… Read more »

That’s because COACH INZAGHI said it is not time to play the young players. He will play them in 10 years when they become old and slow. Stupid, stupid coach. He is a coward and a puppet – he can’t sit the old garbage we have because that would make Kojak look stupid for bringing them to the team. Whole organization is a joke.
