Bocchetti: “It was a shame to concede a soft goal, I am not yet 100 per cent”

Salvatore Bocchetti is not yet in the best possible condition and is sorry to have only drawn Empoli.

The defender joined Milan from Spartak Moscow on loan until the end of the season and today he came off the bench in the first few minutes after Alex broke his nose (he will be operated on Monday).

Bocchetti played alongside Gabriel Paletta in defense and they couldn’t help Milan keep a clean sheet as they drew Empoli.

“It wasn’t easy coming off the bench all of a sudden,” Bocchetti told the Milan Channel.

“We gave everything and I am just sorry that we weren’t able to collect all 3 points. We have to now think about Sunday’s match with Cesena and we have to win it.

“I am not yet 100%, but I have to thank my team-mates and my coach that all help me and put me in a condition to give my best. I will always try and give my very all.

“It’s a shame about the result today, we really wanted to bring home the 3 points in front of our fans. Before they scored, I really cannot remember any clear cut chances by them. It was a shame to concede a soft goal because we could have brought home a win.

“We always play to win and we have to already think about the next match. I am available to the coach and will try and give my maximum.” Bocchetti will be trying to convince Milan to buy him out.
