Essien’s agent: “A player with his resume can’t go to a small club, MLS an interesting league”

Michael Essien’s agent explained why Essien told no to so many clubs during the winter transfer market.

Milan finished the transfer market with no less than 31 players (although many are injured) and just one competition to play in and many fans believe that the Rossoneri didn’t do enough to sell ‘deadweight’ during January & February.

One player that many hoped to see go is Michael Essien who last year joined the Diavolo on a €2.5 million net a season deal (according to Gazzetta’s September data). Essien rejected a number of clubs and his agent has explained why.

“The offers (we received) were only for 5 months and not particularly interesting. Essien has always done well at Milan and one who played for teams like Real Madrid and Chelsea, with a resume like his, can’t go to play at a small club,” The representative of Essien, 32, Fabrizio Ferrari told Premium Calcio.

“Michael? He’s out of contract in June and it was clearly difficult to move in this winter mercato,” Ferrari told Rai. He also spoke to Sky Italia: “There was never a real possibility of a sale. There were various offers but none was real or satisfying. There’re options especially for next year. Orlando? You never know. The MLS is an interesting league. If bids arrive then they’ll be evaluated with great interest.”

Pablo Armero is another player who was supposed to leave but stayed in the end as he said ‘yes’ to Genoa too late and they already took another player for the left-back position to replace Antonelli.

Wow… What a bluff… Really interesting to say the least. Do I blame Essien or his agent? Not at all, it’s not their fault, if not Galliani who makes Essien look like one superstar, earning money he doesn’t deserve at Milan, why would he then want to leave. Resume my a**

I wonder why do we have so many players who don’t wanna leave? Even armero is staying as well. Talk about high wage bill, this team is a perfect example of it.
