CHRISTIAN ABBIATI is in form and there are reports that he could keep his place in the XI.
The Rossoneri Coach Filippo Inzaghi said after the victory over Hellas Verona last week that Abbiati is “an extraordinary lad. He made two important saves” and assured that “Diego Lopez didn’t play today because he wasn’t feeling well.”
However, it appears that Abbiati’s brilliant performance at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi has earned him a starting spot and according to a report on Milannews.it on Friday, the stand-in captain is favourite to play over Lopez in the match against Fiorentina on Sunday at San Siro.
Abbiati stated after the match that he’d accept a return to the bench in the Viola match and accepted the fact that the former Real Madrid goalkeeper is the first choice this year but it seems that Inzaghi is interested in starting the in-form keeper. The decision might still change and it’s clear that Lopez is still the No. 1 goalie.
Ok Abiatti had a good performance against Verona, but he is prone to mistakes like in the game against Cesena. Lopez is better and he should play before we regret it….
Noooooo. Abbiati can only pull off that kind of game a few times a season now. Guaranteed against Fiorentina he’d let in a Dida style howler.
