DEMETRIO ALBERTINI has said he spoke to new red and black signing Fernando Torres and hopes the Spaniard will be a success story.

Torres joins Milan on a free two-year loan from Chelsea and the move will be official today, after the 30-year-old completes the second part of the medical check-ups at Milanello. Torres might be at Stadio San Siro this evening to watch Milan-Lazio, and former Rossonero Albertini , who was Torres’ teammate for one season, wants to see El Nino on the pitch and hopes he’ll do well.

“Torres asked me information on where to live or what school to register his kids for,” Albertini told il Corriere dello Sera. “We’ve been friends ever since we played together at Atletico Madrid.

“Even before the World Cup he told me his desire to find a team where he could have space and continue to enjoy himself. He needs to feel responsibility on his shoulders, but it also requires planning and I hope Torres is just one of many more stories we’ll read about in the Milan Museum.” Torres was in Spain’s WC squad which didn’t make it past the group stage.

Torres will most likely wear the #9 jersey at Milan and debut against Parma or against Juventus. He will stay at the training center Milanello during the international break as La Roja’s Vicente del Bosque decided to leave him out of the squad.

If it’s responsibility he’s looking for he’ll certainly have it with us!

Humanly, physically, technically and professionally he’s capable but mentally Inzaghi would have to help him alot. Welcome El Nino

arya

He’s a Striker. Not a float striker like Balotelli who didn’t even try and get into the box. Don’t get mr wrong Torres too will at times come to the wings but his natural instinct is too be in the box and play off the defenders shoulder. He still has some pace left in the tank so I’m sure he will just fine

Lumen.
