Highlights: Monza 0-2 Milan

31

MILAN ADDED another pre-season win to their record but it took them a while to find the net this time. The Rossoneri had the majority of possession in the first half and had a few chances to score from dead-ball situations but couldn’t take advantage of them (Gianni Vio has some work to do). Monza defended fairly well and didn’t let Milan too many opportunies to fire shots at their goalkeeper. In the second half, after several subtituations by Filippo Inzaghi, Milan got on the scoresheet. The sub Alessandro Mastalli was brought down in the penalty area and M’Baye Niang converted the penalty in the 69′ minute. Six minutes later, Mastalli scored one of his own; he got the ball from Hachim Mastour, who had replaced Stephan El Shaarawy. Mastour made a terrific run, getting past several Monza players before assisting. Milan were comfortable for the better part of the game and didn’t really struggle. 2-0 was the final score of this friendly.

Mastour made a great run for that 2nd goal…..hope to see him push through to the 1st team soon

Blarg

Mastour will get the Ballon´dor someday..future legend

Robinho vs. Monza (the fans were telling him to take the captain’s armband off, and also asking him to leave) yes of course it is best for him to leave for the team and robinho himself, but he doesn’t deserve to be disrespected like that. On a side note, Galliani regarding criscito said ‘we have too many defenders’. Great….

if we gon get a fullback i would love to see a return of darmian

Milanista121

Shameful behaviour…like you say even if it’s probably time for him to leave, he deserves to be treated in a better way than that. Hope he knows that the fans love him for how he is in the dressing room at least.

ACMILAN Fan

If Robinho put some effort or left, instead of threatening to leave, he would receive less boos.

Mastour is a gem. Our future team should be built around el sha, Cristante, MDS, and Mastour

Robert

Does anyone know if Mastour will be in the first team squad for next season or is that still to be decided?

C

That run reminded me of Messi style of running and released the ball perfect aswell very rare to have that already as a 16 year old i have high hopes for this kid

Redouan Arafat

To think that mastour is the same age as me is scary…

SEBLEH E. DAVIES Jr

Please Milan do not sell the young wonderful Mastour.

milanisti bali

Binho must see what Mastour do..
and leave us ASAP, bro…

Anyone saw the game? What did you guys think? Did Saponara look the same as before or was he better? How did Modic perform? Important for morale, glad to see Mastalli get on the scoresheet! Guys, remember, Mastour is just 16, he is still way too small, imagine him facing the likes of Barzagli and Chiellini. It’s great to have such a gem in our team, but no need to rush him, this pre-season will be great for his development, but he needs to be left in peace to develop, this entire year should be with the Primavera. And then… Read more »

I watched a bit of the first half and all of the second. Saponara played well I personally think. But at times he looked lazy. He needs to run when he’s off the ball. Like at mid he would have the ball pass it off and just walk like his job was done. He has great potential if he learns to run moreoff the ball. CCristante looked comfortable for the first game. I agree with u about mastour that we shouldn’t rush him.. To be honest when he came on in this game he looked really really good. Like he… Read more »

Thanks for the reply man! Looks like it’s still the same with Sapo…especially now that he is playing in midfield he really has to up his work rate off the ball, hopefully it will come and the players are just tired now and are getting back into form. Good to hear about Cristante.
Yes exactly, he looked to weak against Renate… however it turns out, let’s hope the management takes the right decision about him and won’t rush him.

kuro

age doesn’t matter as long as he is good to go. maldini also debut when he was 16 then become the first team valuable member the season after that. for me, mastour looks ready for some game in the league this season. he looks calm with the ball.
it would be amazing also exciting to have him in the first team.

delima

Did saponara play well

Some people can be more mature than their age. If Mastour loves the challenges and can manage it, I don’t see any reason why can’t he play with the first team this season. It’ll only make him more confident and grow better. Only if he does not perform well then they’ll have to ease him into the first team more slowly.

Milanista121

It’s not about maturation or not brother. It’s about his physical maturation/development. If his body hasn’t grown fully yet, and he’ll be tossed to play against boss defenders like Chiellini/Barzagli/Other monster defenders who use their physique, not only will it hurt his physique, perhaps making him more injury prone (like Pato for example) it can also affect him in a mental state, so he won’t be as confident and make all the dribbles or express himself on the field like he normally does.

Jibola

Niang was unstoppable all through. His power, technique and pace was unbearable for his opponents, the only thing lacking was an extra quality which i believe will come with more hard work. I sincerely hope Milan keep him because he’s a real handful.

Gallianisux

Lol that was a joke right? Niang was simpy awful yet again. Horrible inconsistent corners, dirty fouls and missing easy change again. This guy needs to be shipped out ASAP.

cuore rosso

Sadly I missed the game, but I think Mastour run was perfect sadly he is to small to play all serie a games these season as a lot of you have already told. I belive more and more that milan should invest in youth I rather Milan come spot 7-4 place with young sqoud with potential than us ending up 4th place with overpaid old people. Saponara has been big thumbs up from me since i saw him play for empoli he just need trust from the coach then he will succeed. I hope Cristante will play US tour against… Read more »

If only Niang had better final ball. He could be a gem.

hearing balotelli for sale is outrageous. the only way id accept that is if we only got lukaku to replace him. we will kick ourselves in the ass because balotelli will be a star in arsenal and his price tag will be double the price. keep balotelli and make him feel that hes part of this team and important for goodness sakes. its pathetic how us italians treat him. he can have a great career at milan

Milanista121

According to Gianluca Di Marzio (who is a very reliable source) Pippo has made his choice, and it’s Cerci. This makes me glad. And apparently Pippo is considering Balo part of his plans, so…don’t think we will sell him.
If that happens, the strongest name linked to us is Jackson Martinez…and that is absurd as Balo is much better than him in all aspects.

jibola

Allegri’s injury syndome took effect immediately at Juve. Poor Morata who just got signed on wednesday limped off the training today with knee injury. He will be sidelined for some time.

Al-amin

Louis Van Gaal just said experience does not really matter and what matter most is personality. He said Seedorf at 16 yrs was more experience than many 30 yrs olds. So if Mastour has the strong personality, let him play.
Last season Saponara was disappointing and remember he missed the entire pre-season and thataffects his entire season. Now without european game, he and others have golden opportunity to proof themselves.

afanofmilan

so many tins could go wrong for mastour if we rush him or overhype . ie bojan was overhyped and the pressure got to him . gago was hyped and well… we know how that turned out . let the kid b a kid

afanofmilan

right now i wud love isco rite now . most talented kid afta neymar and alcantara . (beta than jr) imo . also banega as ive been a fan since his boca junior days

afanofmilan

probelm with mario is his inner demons . clearly talented but needs to keep his head more often . still blive in him tho

kuro

balo is always under pressure that’s why he lost his head more often than anybody else. he is rather sensitive.
