Report: Milan to sign Alex from PSG, monitor Adebayor

83

ALEX WILL join in the summer to Milan, who are also considering a move for Adebayor according to the Italian press.

Milan haven’t had such a bad season since the year of 1997: the Rossoneri have been knocked out of the Coppa Italia and of the Champions League and are nowhere near the top of the table, sitting in 10th place with 35 points from 27 games.

It’s clear that the Rossoneri need reinforcements in order to compete for a Champions League place in the 2014/2015 season and it seems that Vice President Adriano Galliani already has his eyes set on two players for the summer window.

Galliani: “Europa League is the objective of the season”
Seedorf: “Milan have to stick together, we ran out of energy”

The transfer budget is never big at Milan and with no UCL money it’s expected to be even smaller in July-August so they need to look at free agents again. According to Sky Sport 24, Milan have pretty much concluded the signing of Paris Saint-Germain’s Alex. The 31-year-old centerback has his deal expiring at the end of the current season and is expected to arrive.

Alex, who is starting from the bench for Paris Saint-Germain tonight against Bayer Leverkusen in the 2nd leg of the Champions League Round of 16, will help the defense which has been leaky all season and conceded 38 goals so far in Serie A, and four alone last night against Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon. Another player who is apparently on the Milan radar is the 31-year-old Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor, who was linked with Milan several years ago.

Adebayor’s contract ends in 2015 and with speculations about a possible Balotelli sale, the Togo man could replace him. Meanwhile, Adriano Galliani has asked Atletico Madrid about the availability of their sporting director Andrea Berta. Milan are in the search for the Ariedo Braida replacement and Galliani has shown interest in Berta who’s tied to Atletico until 2018.

In the last weeks there have been reports that Hellas Verona’s director of sport Sean Sogliano is expected to stay at the club despite the strong interest from Milan but the Rossoneri keep insisting and Barbara Berlusconi will meet with him.

prickitiw

Oldie reinforcement is on da way

Adebayor is goal machine since new coach take over control… He scores almost every match

BMT

this is ridiculous

what happened to the youth movement????

we actually have some interesting young prospects, but continue to take old men on free transfers for what reason? we’re still terrible with them!

let the young guys play or sign champions…stop with these garbage old players

ted

Makes me wanna throw up… Why can’t they just promote youngsters who r hungry for glory instead of this washed up high waged players… They have good talent in their youth ranks such as Cristante, Petagna, Benedecic, Modic, Pacifico, Iotti… Europe is lost for them so why not start fresh… Delusional management…

Nildinho

Alex is a decent signing. There is no reason why giving a chance to youth while signing senior players cannot coexist. It has to in order to be succesful in my opinion – it is just a matter of signing the right seniors even if they are bargain deals (lets face it we are not gonna get Kompany og T. Silva any time soon!!!). Alex could be really good if it means that Mexes (high salary), Bonera, Zaccardo and Silvestre are all gone. This would offer plenty of chances to the youngsters. As for Ade that I dont get since… Read more »

Guys I have a hunch that we’re saving everything for a Stadium. There is absolutely no other explanation. Milan makes money for Finnivest. There is noway they are going to sink this ship especially when the books were balanced 2 years ago. I’m sure by next year or sooner we might hear the plan or something about this. Berlusconi’s are business family. They know what they are doing. Stay patient.

Abdelrahman Kurdieh

There is already a plan in the making for a stadium as Milan did not renew their contract at the San Siro after 2017 I believe.

Where are we heading to? Trying to sign players over 30yrs of age says it all that our management haven’t learned from their mistakes and are losing touch. IMO if berlusconi still loves milan why not pump in cash or sell the club to better investors just like moratti did and inter would be a team to beat nxt season. We are no longer the milan that i fell in love with some 20yrs ago after the demolision of barca.God help us

Milan: Under investigation
Berlusconi: For the balance sheet he decided to sell the greats without planning for the future
Barbara: With her rift she took the club into chaos, but since peace was made has waited by the sidelines
Galliani: There is not money like there used to be, and his choices in the market have been flops – and now Alex?

My god anyone would think Galliani had just announced we’re re-signing Oliviera and Senderos judging from these comments. Both Ade and Alex are quality players, or have you guys not been watching them at all this season and just trashing them for the sake of it? Okay so they’re not the A-List dynamite we’d like but obviously we can’t afford it, otherwise we’d be buying back Ibra and Thiago Silva. At least this time Galliani has pinpointed quality players rather than deadwood like Silvestre, Birsa, Kevin Constant etc. And it’s not like they’ll be the only players we’ll buy in… Read more »

I have seen Adebayor play this season, and I would welcome him with open arms. I’ve been wanting Balotelli to stay all this while but, as our legends mentioned before, he really isn’t a game changer. Ibra is. Cavani is. Tevez is. El sharaawy is. Balotelli hasn’t shown that quality yet with Milan. So if the sale of Balotelli means the influx of a couple of game changers, I’m all for it. A part of my heart, although wants him to stay and watch him succeed. We really NEED to sell mexes, constant, silvestre and Amelia. Rami n Alex with… Read more »

Milan

I wouldnt mind if they get Alex but all the useless defenders need to be sold. Milan need to sell around 12 players in my opinion. Too many old players in the bench with high wages. Why dont you just keep young players with low wages and invest in the youth. Seedorf has apparently been interested in Doria who is young. Doria and Alex, centre back and De Sciglio and Abate will full backs will make a good defence for Milan. If Adebayor comes, he will be just another useless signing. Just like Essien. Milan need to buy a good… Read more »

if along with alex comes doria from botafogo or Joël Veltman from ajax i would actually happy, alex is not bad, has something still in him, and a good young defender for the future would be awesome, those 2 are really good. But is we sure need to get bonera, mexes, constant, silvestre, out. Also why not go after keylor navas? the gut has been the best keeper in spain this season and only has a 10 million release clause

Luke

If they are going to get Adebayor, they may as well bring Inzaghi out of retirement and he will do better. I hope Milan gets some young players not old past their prime players. Go for Costa, Lewandowski, etc

The only real milan quality we have are: – Rami – MDS – De Jong – El Sharaawy And to an extend Balo and Kaka.. Everybody else, i think should be for sale. Not everyone is gonna be sold – but they should be put on the market. If we are going to buy cheap quality players, they need to look for youngsters who should be given the chance. They should scout U19 teams – Barca, Madrid, Bayern, Dortmund – and promise them first team football – And of course also our own talents. This should take a couple of… Read more »

sell all the mediocre players plzzzz, thats about 90 % of the squad tho.. Although I looooove balotelli, i think he should be sold, cause he is surely lacking work-rate. If u manage to sell balotelli for around 30 million, maybe add some cash and buy chicarito and carlos vela for attack. We should have KAKA’ , Pazzo and someone young and fast as backup(Niang maybe?) and maybe Saponara too. Only if he’s willing too work his ass off for the team. Attack : ST – Chicarito LAM-SES CAM-HONDA RAM-VELA for midfield lets keep de jong, poli n cristante as… Read more »
