Milan suffer more injuries, flu attacks

25

MANY PLAYER players are suffering from influenza while others have gotten injured; but there are some good news.

The Coppa Italia was the main priority for this season but it’s no longer possible as Milan lost to Udinese in the quarter finals last night and so they’ll need a miracle to be in a European competition next season but luck isn’t on Milan’s side.

Clarence Seedorf had to make some unexpected changes in the XI yesterday due to the illness of some players and was forced to make an early substitution due to Cristian Zapata’s injury. Milan have commented on the condition of the men.

Highlights: Milan 1-2 Udinese

“AC Milan wishes to communicate that Gabriel is suffering from the flu as are Bryan Cristante, Cristian Zaccardo and Poli while Abbiati and Birsa played yesterday despite both players having a fever,” the statement on Milan’s website reads on Thursday. “Meanwhile Christian Zapata is carrying a injury in his right leg and will undergo further tests in 10 days’ time.

“Matias Silvestre has also suffered a slight strain in his right leg and will undergo tests in a week’s time.” However, it’s not all bad as there are some players returning too after facing some time off the pitch due to their respective injuries: “Marco Amelia, Giampaolo Pazzini, Riccardo Montolivo, Sulley Muntari, Daniele Bonera and Riccardo Saponara are all on the road to recovery and may be available for selection while Andrea Petagna’s muscular injury will be looked at day by day.”

Stephan El Shaarawy still has some time to go before returning but his agent/brother has said recovery is going well. “He’s healing. Stephan works in the gym and is responding well to the treatment,” Manuel said. “His recovery goes according to plan. Stephan has a great desire to return to play and is very motivated. He regrets not being able to help his teammates.”

Milan are currently 7 points away from Fiorentina in 5th place. It’s clear that the Rossoneri won’t be in the Champions League next season but they have to play a lot better than they did against Udinese to be in the 2014/15 Europa League.

Acerbi,Masbah,Taiwo,Traore,Silvestre…Galliani haven’t learn any lesson.Seedorf will fail with all these mediocre players sigh

Just because a player doesn’t have a video on youtube does not make him a bad player. There were very few if any videos of Thiago Silva out there once he joined us – not comparing them just saying it how it is. And watching youtube videos can even make Bendtner/Heskey/Constant look good. Just saying.

Can someone please clarify this,
I thought Italy gets 6 spots in Europe. 1-3 CL and 4-6 in EL. Unless the winner of Copa Italia is outside the top 6 then it’s 1-3 in CL and 4th, 5th, and copa winner in EL. Is this still the case?

Yes, the winner of the Coppa gains direct entry into next year’s EL.

No idea. No interest in europa as it doesn’t bring much revenue for milan. No champion league means we will be selling el shawaary at the end of the season. We sold Kaka after missing out. Subsequently, Even with champion league we sold thiago silva n ibra. I can’t imagine.

We wouldn’t absolutely need to sell key players like SeS. I can understand why you might expect that given precedent though. However, by removing Matri, Robinho, Mexes and Nocerino off the books that’s 10.5m/year in saved wages. For the most part, the club has already been looking to offload them anyway (even if by loan), so I’d say it will likely happen on a permanent basis this summer.

So without all these players that were mentioned the squad will be:
Amelia/Coppola
De Sciglio/Abate—Rami/Mexes—Bonera—
Emanuelson
Nocerino(out)/Honda—Montolivo/Muntari
Kaka
Balo/Pazzini is better for sub cause he is from
an injury!/Robinho!!!

Good luck Rossoneri and dont dissapoint us againnn!!!

i would be glad if the window closses with milan not buying a player, as there are more chances of an unnecessary/garbage joinning than an actually needed player. stop with the essien, the flu and the paletta.

Guys I had a thought, what if we could find a formation that would allow us to play with BOTH balotelli and Pazzini on the pitch at the same time. Do you think it would work? And if we could, do you think Honda and Kaka would be able to play at the same time also, what are your thoughts? I was thinking something like a 4-3-1-2 with Montolivo as regista, De jong in the gattuso role on the left and Honda on the right with kaka as the trequartista.

lol Europa brings in a bit of money, which is much better than nothing. If Milan sell SES anytime soon, the best asset the team has, idk how supportive I could be as a fan anymore. Especially after the trade of Thiago. I was sad about ibra too, but Ibra moves around a lot so I wasn’t expecting him staying much longer.

Ibra didn’t want to move. He said it many times that he is happy at Milan. It was just that he saw Silva’s sale as a lack of ambition in Milan’s part. And it was true.

Weigh your pros and cons again. Europa League most likely costs money by the time you weigh in the opportunity costs of potential injuries, added player exhaustion, travelling to ludicrous destinations (ie-random clubs deep in Russia), and tremendously inconvenient matchdays (ie-Thrusdays). There is no argument for wanting to play in the Europa League.

I think Europa League is better than nothing. It’s a joke of a tournament all right, but at the very least it offers some matchdays for younger players. So I’m all for it next season.

We MUST find solution to the cause of all injuries. Otherwise even Guadiola + Mourinho can not bring success to Milan.

Paletta won’t be joining Milan according to his agent. Hope it’s true.

Meanwhile Constant rejected a swap deal with Armero from Napoli

Essien will probably join Milan on loan or in permanent deal, all we’re waiting is an anwser from Chelsea

Zaccardo and Nocerino on way out, one to Fulham, other to West Ham. They should both be playing for ham only, useless so called professional fooballers…
