Kaka: “An important game”, Montolivo: “Milan on the right path”

MILAN WON for the second time in one week and the players are happy with the points collected in Sicily on Sunday.

There was a lot of action going on behind the scenes at Milan in the last days with Adriano Galliani resigning and then announcing he’s staying and the match of the Diavolo with Catania perhaps didn’t get the utmost attention from the press.

Milan got the job done in that game and won 3-1 as the goals of Riccardo Montolivo, Mario Balotelli and Ricky Kaka overturned the result after Lucas Castro’s opener. Captain Montolivo believes Milan are making steps forward these days.

Highlights: Catania 1-3 Milan
Catania-Milan: Official line-ups

“I hoped to score the first goal earlier this season, we were behind so it was an important goal, in the last month we’ve made progress, clearly it’s not enough because we’re behind but it’s comforting, we’re on the right path,” Monty told Milan’s site today. “We made mistakes when we had a numerical advantage and it’s a psychological factor that we need to work on.

“Kaka? He arrived and then immediately had an injury, but he’s a great champion and he makes the difference in every match, he brings with him lots of experience, let’s hope he keeps it up, he’s great charisma. The President’s announcement clearly came at the right time, it’s not been an easy week for us but there is serenity again. We need to do our duty on the pitch and continue along the lines of today.” Montolivo and Kaka were two of Milan’s best performers on Sunday noon.

Ricky scored his 99th goal for Milan and after the match he promised that he’d do something special the next time he finds the net. “I’m very happy that I’m able to play well and that the team wins,” Kaka said. “It was an important game for us. My game? I perhaps should have shot earlier when Montolivo gave me that pass in the first half I have to improve on that.

“Balotelli is very important, he’s doing well, he scored and when he scores he is happier. I scored my 99th goal, I’m happy, in reality I was waiting for El Shaarawy and Balotelli to arrive and to pass them the ball, but they didn’t arrive and I shot.”

“I delivered a great ball for Montolivo, I saw him coming,” stated Urby Emanuelson. I’m happy with how I played. I’m finding continuity, it’s been 5 games now that I’ve played in the same position, every time it goes better. Let’s keep it up. This squad is growing physically, some of the injured players have come back, maybe next week the rest of them will come back.

“It will only get better.” Milan’s next game is on Saturday against Livorno again away from home. The game after the Livorno match is a very important one as it is against Ajax at Stadio San Siro and Milan have to get at least a point to advance.

As much as I loved see Milan win again, I still have to say that our backline is horrible. We played well, but could have done better!

good to see el92 back on action aswell.

forza milan!

That was a makeshift back line. No Abate, Mexes, Zapata, DeSciglo…You have to commend them for what they did.

“It was an important game for us. My game? I perhaps should have shot earlier when Montolivo gave me that pass in the first half I have to improve on that.” Traits of a real champion, never content, you just want to keep on getting better. So glad to have him back, it’s truly amazing. I really liked Monto’s display, not only due to his goal, but his overall display, I hope he’ll finally find his form and improve! And agreed with what Urby said, with each passing game he gets better and more comfortable as a left back, it’s… Read more »

Ouch!

Kaka is just too awesome mayn, gotta luv him. Why did he have to waste 4 yrs of his career at Madrid! :( LEGEND! <3

i didnt get to watch the game but i saw stats and i’m pleased. maybe the opponent is weak, as a win against catania should always be expected. but the fact that i heard we won with good football is something, as this is not so fond of allegri even with skills like ronaldinho and pirlo around. not only the points but its also important the way milan win games (atleast to me). i’ll try to see the repeat later to be sure of the way we played and if its not as cute, l’ll then come for max ‘.D… Read more »

Kaka….why were you at bernabeau??
ohhhh…..It seems we are doing things right..we should keep consistency and there is still some hope that we can get into top three or even give a good fight…
It was really good seeing El92 back again with same venomous runs…hope allgri lets him play from beginning agnst livorno or Ajax
FORZA MILANO……

It is funny to think back at how many of you didn’t want kaka back because he was too old and not the same player. We got him back for free!! I didn’t not expect his goal today, he looked as if he was going to put the ball across the face of goal but put it away beautifully himself.

Simply put: KAKA IS MAGIC

Perhaps we could be in the first position now hadn’t it been that Galliani strengthened our backline with quality player,i blame Him and Max for that, but i believe that with these problems with Lady B he could surprise us for the last time by proving lady B wrong for accusing him for bad transfer mercato(as he thinks, but Lady B was right-Silvester,Birsa,Matri,Constant,Zaccardo).

Nino Divino

Galliani deserves more respect. I do not like Allegri, but we must respect Galliani. Most of the players were what the coach asked for. Allegri was a small time coach, so it was okay for him to work with average players with the hope that he could get something out of them. It was Allegri who asked for Mesbah, when Galliani signed Urby as the man for the left-back position in January 2011. Instead Allegri started playing him out of position. Last season, he sent the guy out and kept on using Constant – who never in his wildest dreams… Read more »

Sorry my error above ”HAD IT BEEN THAT GALLIANI STRENGTHENED OUR DEFENCE”.

If i were Galliani my two targets would be Dede and Felipe Luiz

nick

Dede is overrated! Scolari doesn’t even consider him for Brazil. He had a few apperances for Brazil that I’m sure he hopes eveyone will forget quick!

Dede,Rami,Astori,Mexes.

zibra

is rami cup tied? Because some sites say he isnt (like this one) and other sites say he is.

Milanista121

Nope, not cup-tied, he played a little for Valencia in Europa League, but it is possible to register a player in the CL-squad who previously played in Europa League, so he can play in the UCL for us!:)

RKaY

Yea blame galliani Ben… Who brought kaka back for free again? Oh yea

EllO

Guys KAKA is back again ..he never schould left to shityy Real M. . but anyways now he is hungry as never before ..like that he will be called for the World CUP ..Its good for Milan ,for Himself n for Brasil !

We ll be back ! FORZA MILAN!

C

in january Milan should try to buy Eder Alvarez Balanta from river he is the next Thiago Silva and Criscito and Bocchetti

@ RKay,I said i blame him for not strengthening our defence with the right players,if he did that Juve should be fighting us for the Scudetto by now.

Jibola

Kaka without a doubt could personally drive this club forward. He’s unbelievable
