Boateng: “Full-strength Milan could’ve competed with City”

34

KEVIN-PRINCE BOATENG has claimed he feels at home at Milan and believes that with everyone Milan are equal to City.

Milan lost badly to Manchester City last evening and were 5-0 down after 35 minutes (ended 5-3 with plenty of chances missed). Massimiliano Allegri had to deal with 10 unavailable players and was forced to play a makeshift defense.

Kevin-Prince Boateng started the game in his favourite attacking midfielder role but La Gazzetta dello Sport rated him as a Flop (along with Cristian Zaccardo) in today’s edition. The Ghana international believes Milan can do a lot better.

Silvestre: “I am not afraid and I want to show my worth”
Highlights: Manchester City 5-3 Milan

“Manchester City played well in the first 35 minutes and you could see where we were in terms of our preparation even though it was a pity we did not get back on level terms in the end,” Boa told Milan Channel.  It is always a pleasure to come back to Germany because I was born here. Milan will be at full strength when Montolivo, Balotelli, Abate, Zapata are back

“With them we could have competed with Manchester City. I have always said I am happy to stay here and Milan is my second home. I am pleased for El Shaarawy who is scoring, playing well and this is very important for us.” Milan’s next opponent is Sao Paolo this evening (18:15 CET kick off) for the 3rd place of the Audi Cup. It will be the first time is 20 years that Milan face Sao Paolo – the last time was 1993 in the  Intercontinental Cup in Tokyo, when Sao Paolo beat Milan 3-2.

“We didn’t have a great 35 minutes and we were too timid in our challenges but then we got into the game and started to play well,” Massimiliano Allegri told the official website after the game on Wednesday. “We got back on track in the second and showed a lot more character. We were missing a lot of the internationals and we had a lot young players out there.

“El Shaarawy played well and we must remain calm and continue to work towards our objective which is making it through the Champions League play-off.” El Shaarawy scored two goals against Man City, but he could’ve score a lot more.

Ibrah

Win sao paolo an cum back home wit d third place i will still say dat city can nt beat milan if we are complete dey used their full squard but we used some average player due to injury hope all d player dat were injured recover soon forza milan

Greg

Maybe if City had been at full strength then the scoreline would have been more emphatic. No sergio aguero, vincent kompany, matija nastistic or pablo zabaleta ?

al83

Dude, I don’t defend Milan’s performance but the difference was quite big: City was missing 2-3 starters and Milan was playing with 2-3 starters. So yes, City was playing full strength compared to Milan.

Greg

Dude – City were actually missing their 1st choice back four – Kompany (captain)Nastasic,Zabaleta and Clichy. They were also missing their 1st choice striker – Sergio Aguero that is 5 out of 11 almost half the team !

rich complain dwan

dude, milan was also missing their full back four; abate, mexes, zapata, scigilo. Milan was missing MOST of their best players. Montilivio who creates many chances for strikers wasnt there and ballotelli who is a great finisher. If milan had their best defenders they wouldnt have conceded 5 goals, and with montilivo and ballo playing milan would have scored more than three…

Bewarethemoon

Don’t kid yourself Boateng! City didn’t have a full strength side either, our poorest defence on the pitch! if we had Kompany, Clichy and Zaba you wouldn’y have got a sniff of goal, plus we didn’t have Aguero either!!

City fan, inside here…? Sorry i mean shitty…
Get lost plastic fantastic…

ElGordo

If City had had their full defence out then Milan would not have scored

thrasher

i would have see if city have they’re full defense then milan would have score more than 3.

Enwongo Milani

dis Troare of a guy….jus terminate his contract nd let him go 4 free!!

I really started to lose my faith in Boateng, he keeps getting worse and worse, he is nowhere near his 2010 level when Ibra was around. So to conclude, he is just not consistent enough, look at özil and Honda, özil went to madrid and is now 4 years in sequence at a world-class level, where as Honda keeps growing and getting better and better as the time goes on, also Honda has this ability to up his standards and level whenever his teammates also up their, Honda keeps growing his level, he won’t fall behind like Boateng. This is… Read more »

Boateng is talking on tv,he should be talking on the pitch. He cant stop the ball, pass it, nothing. I am so disappointed in his ability to play trequartista, that I am going to computer shop to buy Championship manager, so that I can sell him to Inter. Worst number 10 in Milan history. I hope that Honda comes and Saponara get well. So that he can find his natural position – BENCH!!

MILANMILANMILANMILAN

i dont know why allegri cannot understand that boateng is not a player who can be a trequartista …but the other way is that he can be a great player if he plays like vidal in juve cuz’ boa is really fast and can break actions.. and zaccardo amelia traore antonini noce ect are waste of time.if ljalic comes, niang or petagna(one of them) should go on loan(i prefer niang) without the right to buy him..and this would be the best formation( my opinion ) … Abbiati/Gabriel Abate Mexes Zapata( or A BUY ) constant/de2 ———–De jong ——Monto——-Poli/BOA ——–Honda/Saponara —-Balotelli——El92/ljajic(if… Read more »

Yes this is a very good formation, but don’t forget that this “classy boy” Boateng (atleast thats what he thinks he is), keeps running forward, he is more of an attacking midfielder, and whenever he gets forward he fucks up the whole attack with his lack of vision and handling speed at the goal, such a waste when Els, Honda and Balo are there because Boa will ruin it for them.

greg

Boateng wouldn’t be in a full strength Milan

Greg

Boatang wouldn’t be in City’s under 12’s.

Blue Mooner

Hate to rain on your parade gents, but in no way was that City’s first team either.
The entire back four was our 2nd string one.
We were missing Kompany, Nastasic, Zabaletta & Clichy,
plus we were also without our record signing and main striker Aguerooooooooooooo!

Kuchini

Seriously guys, Citys bench would finish in at least the top six in the Epl.
Take a look at their so-called first choice back four and what they fielded on Wednesday, Is there any noticeable drop in quality!? Experience, Maybe! But quality, Hell no!

Milans so-called first team back four will get Milan in the Seria A top 6 at Most and our so-called bench would certainly get us relegated.

MilanFan

To all the Manchester City fans here,
A) Milan had 10 players injured, according to you City had 4-5 players out.
B) Manchester City have a much better depth than Milan, their so-called second team is a lot better than Milan’s second team.
C) It would’ve been a different game if each side had all of its players. Different result too, certainly not 5-0 after 35 minutes.

Greg

No probably 6 or 7 nil. How’s are ex super sub settling in Mario doe’s he get a game at the empty san siro ?

MilanFan

Funny guy, are you a comedian?

Greg

Just a realist !! But i would have to be a comedian to watch Milan every week jokers !!!!

red and black

If you love City so much why the hell are you in blog thats for milan fan? I think you’ve got too much spare time in your hand and just love trolling where you don’t belong. Go back to your troll cave

City Fan

So what you are saying is that City are better than Milan? Noted…

MilanFan

Yeah I mean, the City squad is without a doubt better than Milan’s. I don’t think anyone reasonable can argue otherwise.

The strong starting XI’s, however, are more even with Man City slightly advantaged. If this was a serious, Champions League match and not a friendly with each team missing 4-6 key players (City’s replacement better than Milan’s), the game would’ve been a lot more even.

emmanuel

man city is not better dan my milan…If dey were better d scoreline would av been 6-1

Jaeflex

City fans…eat shit…u’re nothing in the champions league, lets meet there…milan will teach you a lesson

Greg

Wonder if you can win tonight against sao paulo i know where my money will be ! Finishing last eh !!

T33

Manchester shitty, hehehe…

Aslarn

Although the 4-1-2-1-2 formation seems oki, we will.fynd it hard ta break teams down that play lots of centre mids, also el sharaawy is physically too weak ta play in middle so ac milan shuld stick to the 4-3-3 with:
Abbiati
Abate-Silvestre(cause mexes is awful)- zapata- constant
—–De jong——
Poli——honda
Saponara(left)——el sharaawy(right)—— super mario

Keep boateng on bench or sell him, hes shocking and maybe buy anuva defender. Really impressed wiv gabriel tho. Hes gonna be an amaziing keeper hopefully

Forza milan ^_^

Black & Red

Milan need to sell Boateng and get Paulo Henrique Ganso or Ricky Alvarez. And get new left back like Fabio Coentrao or Domenico Criscito or Davide Santon. And we should get new center back Vital Dede or Andrea Ranocchia. And we should get new goalkeeper, I would prefer Rene Adler he could be perfect. And out team would be: Adler, De Sciglo-Dede-Zapata-Santon, Montolivo-De Jong-Poli, Ganso, Balotelli-El Shaarawy.

red and black

All these players that you mention as replacement is too expensive and I am not quite sure why you put Ganso on same level as Ricky Alvarez. Ricky Alvarez has been subpar and I’d say Ganso is more complete player.

Even if we sell Boateng, I don’t think we’d raise enough fund to sign Ganso/Coentrao/Criscito/Dede…. These signings are unrealistic and only realistic in probably video games.

offliner

I am sorry to say this but Boeteng wasted his talent. He must be sold.
