M’BAYE NIANG is not afraid to say Milan can do as well as Juventus and hopes to drastically improve his scoring rate.
Niang only managed to score one goal in 24 Milan appearances in all competitions last season but he is set to start his second season with the Rossoneri and hopes to do a lot better in terms of scoring and wants to win the league title.
“Hopefully I will score a lot of goals this season like El Shaarawy did last year (Stephan scored 19 goals in his second season). Last season was about developing,” Niang said today during a press conference in the training center Milanello.

“I played a lot and hopefully I will play a lot this season and score a lot of goals. I will play where the coach wants me to. I can play as a centre forward or a support striker out wide. I also had a bit of a dip at the end of the season and hopefully I will be more consistent. I have learnt a lot from the great players in the team. The coach has kept on top of what I’ve done.
“But you have to be a real professional here and work well. I have forgotten the post at Barcelona. Now I am concentrating on the new season. Juventus are a great team but we’ve plenty of quality and hopefully we’ll win the league. Am I better than Pogba? Hopefully I’ll do well for Milan. Italian football is different from French football. Competition in football is a good thing. I’ll work even more to earn a starting place. I’ve improved my movement and also the tactical part of my game.
“I didn’t do that in France. I have improved everything. Balotelli is a great player and it is easy to play alongside him and hopefully I will become as good as him. I will definitely remain at Milan 100 per cent. I have to do what I can, score goals and develop. Mario has scored a lot of goals both at City and in Italy. I have a lot of work to do to become like him.
“Balotelli, Mexes and Boateng give me a lot of advice. The coach has told me I must keep working hard. I am happy to stay here. I have a great relationship with him. It is normal for young players to go through a tough time but we have to work hard to become great players. If a player of quality arrives so be it. Wearing the Milan shirt is a great occasion and I can play alongside the great players. We hope to do better than Juve. I think we are better but let’s see what happens.
“We can do well. My goal is to score as many goals and win as much with Milan. The number 9 shirt (which will remain vacant next season)? I have not talked about the shirt number. We just have to keep working and then I will think about the rest. I hope to do well in this pre-season to earn a place in the team and I hope that the coach will give me the chance.
“The preparation in Italy is very physical, but it’s normal because we have to do well in the championship,” added Niang who will only turn 19-years-old in December. Niang most play as right-winger last season but can fit in a 4-3-1-2.
He has a great future, if he doesn’t fool around, keep his feet on the ground and stay focused on training and performing consistently. So he’d better keep some distance from Balo, Boateng, Robinho etc.
Forza Milan!!
Boateng is one of the most professional players around. He works his butt off at training everyday
My opinion is he should be loaned out to a team like sassuolo or a team that got promoted to Serie A… He needs the experience and players like him for small teams can drop points from big clubs like Juve, Fiorentina etc. He will be Milan’s next George Weah he just needs time, his first goal for Milan was at the age of 17 against Torino, that is something to be quiet proud for, if only he scored vs Barca, but an 18 year old playing vs Barca shows what he means to Milan…keep on improving you remind me… Read more »

Reggina*
He seems mature though, down to earth, based on this interview. Just keep on improving, people forget that we are after all, a young team at the moment, and our players can explode at any time. Last season it was El Shaa and De Sciglio, this season it might be Niang and Cristante (perhaps Petagna depending on his playing time).
All the best, forza Milan!
MILAN MUST PLAYY 4-2-3-1!!
Yes!!
thanks!!
YES!
Talk less work harder kid,we don’t need another Boateng in the team.
There are growing reports that Arsenal are preparing a £10.3m bid for Milan full-back Ignazio Abate. The 26-year-old had already been the subject of an offer from Zenit St Petersburg in January, but the Rossoneri turned it down. According to MilanNews.it Arsene Wenger has set his sights firmly on Abate, who had to interrupt his Confederations Cup campaign due to a dislocated shoulder. Abate’s position is in doubt because his contract expires in June 2014 and no renewal has been worked out yet. The Gunners hope to convince Milan into a sale by offering €12m – around £10.3m – for… Read more »
No! We can’t sell Abate. Knowing Galliani, he’ll give us some awful left-back like Pereirra or something, (as De Sciglio would probably move to RB) or even put Constant there, who cost us the game vs Barca. We need Abate, he is very good.
i think we might also playy better with de sciglio rb and constant lb he made a good solid impression on me when playing on the back pos..
If you score more Galliani will sell you!!!
Hahahahahahahahaha ^^^
Is it just me, cause everytime i watch Milan players training everyone looks serious and focused…….except ROBHINO & KPB like what the f***.
Reports are Fiorentina have agreed terms for Ilicic! For me they’re the second best in the league now. They have by far the best manager and just look at the talent at his disposal, Rossi, Gomez, Llajic, Cuadrado, Valero, Joaquin, Aquilani, Ilicic – insane! If they had a better defence they’d be my title favourite for sure.
I thought that Fio said that if they bought Ilicic they’d sell Ljajic. *hint* *hint*
Niang we b great next season 4za milan.
i dont feat anyteam but juve, we are better, fiorentina dosent have winning mentality, the arent a historic club, look at man city, and the MILLIONS they spent in a less competetive legue and the finished second, money dosent buy trophys, balotelli elshaarawy montolivo de scig poli and niang will tho
I don’t like it when player is playing futball with his mouth..
Can anyone tell me when player start scoring goals with their mouth?…
Niang should be loaned. Talkless score more
I love what is going on in Real madrid now. Shifting from power play to tiki taka. They are signing players that makes them achieve that aim and selling the power players.
lol
“Milan? That is the past now, as I am a Fiorentina player and only want to talk about that. I will admit that I expected some more interest from the Milan directors, or for them to at least talk to me… After the season ended I spoke to the directors once and there was no opportunity to clarify the situation. I didn’t even need to contact them.”

Jesus, what’s Milan coming to???
-Loan Niang ? I respectfully, but strongly disagree.
-With Pazzini injured Niang is our first striker off the bench. He is also a perfect understudy to Mario. Without Niang, who do we bring off the bench when SES or Mario get tired or injured ? Robinho ? Petagna ? M’Baye will get plenty of playing time this season.
i jus read Amelia wants to Leave Milan,… YEEESSSSSS!!!!!!
OK to loan him out, BUT NOT FOR SALE
