DANIELE BONERA says he is not surprised by the two-year renewal and is happy Milan have decided to keep Allegri.
Bonera will next year play his 8th season in a Milan shirt and he will also play a 9th Rossoneri season after signing a two-year contract extension last month. Bonera says he is happy to stay at Milan along with coach Massimiliano Allegri.
“Obviously I am very happy with the final decision to stick with Allegri, I can only base my ideas on the great experience of the president and of Adriano Galliani because both have never put a foot wrong in these last 30 years,” Bonera said.

Milan close in on Poli signing
“These are choices made by the club but if I have to give you my own personal opinion then I am happy with the decision made and I am sure they had their reasons to make the decision they did. There was every chance that I’d keep playing here but all I wanted first was to have a quick chat with Galliani and when that happened he understood that I wanted to stay and I knew they wanted me to stay.” Bonera was reportedly offered a three-year contract at Serie A champions Juventus.
“The two year contract isn’t really a surprise, I think Galliani gave me two years because he thinks I am a good influence in the dressing room although obviously my priority is to continue playing for a little while longer,” Bonera, 31-year-old, added.
