MILAN ARE ready to embrace the model of Ajax and Barca as they prepare a revolution of the youth.
They say the future belongs to the young and Milan certainly seem to believe that as they completely changed their approach and instead of buying top expensive players, they are interested in creating them.
The likes of Mattia De Sciglio, M’Baye Niang, Stephan El Shaarawy and Mario Balotelli appear to be the present and future but Milan are working on a long-term project which will start taking shape in June.
Today there as a meeting between Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani, the Youth Department directors Ariedo Braida and Mauro Bianchessi, Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri and assistant Mauro Tassotti and the youth teams coaches: Aldo Dolcetti, Filippo Inzaghi, Omar Danesi, Walter De Vecchi, Roberto Bertuzzo.
Milan are planning to use the model that has brought success to Ajax and more recently Barcelona. The youth teams The Primavera, the 2 Allievi sides and the three Giovanissimi teams will start using similar tactics as the first team starting from next year and the coaches will use the same methodology. Allegri will be the coordinator but Milan could decide to appoint a technical manager which will function as the ‘link’.
Allegri has always been in favour of using more youngsters and the idea is to produce players like Franco Baresi, Alessandro Costacurta and Paolo Maldini. Milan have already brought back in the summer some of their past scouts including the one that revealed De Sciglio who has been very impressing this season.
Milan hope to have this project in full swing at three years which is also the time Milan have estimated that they will return to the top of football in Italy and more importantly in Europe and the Champions League.
