MILAN HAVE qualified to the knock-out stage of the Champions League after beating Anderlecht 3-1 at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium on Wednesday evening. Milan played a poor first half and didn’t have any shots on target after 45 minutes, with Anderlecht being the dominant side. However, two minutes into the second half, Stephan El Shaarawy – who else? – scored a great goal to put Milan in the lead (47′). Bram Nuytinck conceded a direct red card after fouling Alexandre Pato in the 70′ minute and Milan earned a free-kick; Philippe Mexes netted one of the goals of the season from this free kick, scoring a stunning bicycle kick which reminds of Ibrahimovic’s incredible goal against England. Tom de Sutter pulled one back for Anderlecht (79′) and Anderlecht pushed hard to equalize, but Alexandre Pato sealed the game (91′) with an easy goal thanks a great El Shaarawy assist. Milan are through.
